Manuel Akanji
Switzerland have one back!
A corner is flicked on, I think by Goncalo Ramos, and Manuel Akanji is there at the far post to stab in. There's no way he was missing that one.
Surely only a consolation, though?

You're 4-0 down, you may as well [go for it and] lose by five or six.
It would have been stopped if it was a boxing match.
Portugal are cruising. Time to make changes and start resting players.

That felt like a celebration in slow motion in the stands. The move was so clear that everyone was just waiting for the shot to hit the back of the net. Portugal are absolutely running away with this.
Raphael Guerreiro
Portugal are cruising!
They are turning on the style now as they had a quick fourth, a move that is started with a lovely backheel on halfway and finishes with Raphael Guerreiro driving into the roof of the net,
Goncalo Ramos adds an assist to his two goals.

Goncalo Ramos' performance has had a little bit of everything, much like Portugal's performance.
He can do most things. What he has got is instinct. You saw that here. He knew he only needed to get a touch. He didn't need to blast that like the first one.
Portugal 3-0 Switzerland
Joao Felix's shot deflects behind and Portugal have another corner. Again, Pepe leaps higher than anyone but this time his header strikes a defender.
This is so comfortable for Portugal.

It's that man again! I think he enjoys international football.
Diogo Dalot, who made the assist, immediately spun on the spot, jumped up and fist pumped towards the stadium roof.
Many Swiss fans behind the goal threw their arms in the air in frustration and took their seats, no doubt feeling deflated.

James: Ramos on for a hattrick, it couldn't happen could it?

The first one was a bullet, but that one was just a really clever run across the front post.
Portugal really are romping away with this now.
Goncalo Ramos
He does it again!
Diogo Dalot plays a great low ball in from the right and Goncalo Ramos gets just ahead of his marker to stab in from close range.
Two goals on his first full start for Ramos - some impression.

Switzerland have to find a way of stopping Portugal. At the moment, it doesn't look like they can do it.
They don't look like they have the answers. They need a dramatic turnaround.
Portugal 2-0 Switzerland
Ricardo Rodríguez gets a crucial touch to divert an early Portugal corner away from danger.
There's a huge cheer from the Portugal fans as Cristiano Ronaldo gets up off the bench to warm up.
Portugal 2-0 Switzerland
Switzerland have reverted to a back four, switching to the formation that saw them keep Brazil out until the 83rd minute in the group stage. Not sure why they changed it for this game.
Portugal 2-0 Switzerland
Back under way with Switzerland making a change for the start of the second half.
Fabian Schar, who had picked up a knock and a booking in the first half, is replaced by Eray Comert.

This is the best Portugal have played in these finals. Ominous. If England have to beat France, Portugal and Brazil to win it they certainly will have done it the hard way.

Portugal 2-0 Switzerland
Portugal will want the added security of a third because Switzerland are no strangers to a come back.
They came from behind to beat Serbia in their final group game and at Euro 2020 they turned their last 16 game around against France when they were 3-1 down to go on and win on penalties.

Statistics often vividly paint the picture of a match, but sometimes what ends up on the canvas is not a true representation.
That's probably the case tonight.
While the possession and territory stats from the first half look quite even, they don't stress the dominance enjoyed by Portugal.

I wonder what Murat Yakin will say to his players at half time. They have been alright. It's a horrible feeling as a professional when you are out on the pitch and you realise the other team are just a lot better than you and that's what it's been for Switzerland.
Portugal have ticked every box tonight. The questions were there when the manager left Ronaldo out. He's had the answers from the players on everything.
