There is nothing positive within this France side. The body language is almost just accepting of defeat at the minute.

France are attacking as individuals. There are no options for a pass, no connection.

    Argentina 2-0 France

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Big tackle from Rabiot, he just gets something on it as Messi is about to strike it. Little touch onto him, that's why it goes wide.

    OH, ALMOST BRILLIANT!

Angel di Maria is again the architect, beating a man on the left and firing a low ball that a team-mate dummies, slowing Lionel Messi to gather.

Adrien Rabiot's sliding tackle denies the little man his second goal of the game.

France hanging on by their fingernails.

Mbappe lost his head a bit there, he was getting frustrated and he lashed out at De Paul. You can understand his frustration, he has not had a kick.

It's difficult when France are so passive in their play.

Argentina are still the ones hitting harder.

Nicolas Tagliafico times his tackle magnificently to stop Randal Kolo Maundi getting in down the right.

    Argentina 2-0 France

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Rabiot is saying he got the ball, nowhere near it. That was a bad challenge. They won't want De Paul to go off. It's a nasty tackle and De Paul probably rolled his ankle.

De Paul is back up and ready to go again.

Argentina are in no rush, though.

You can see France getting very frustrated as this goes on.

France have been terrible! I really didn't care who won this game when it kicked off but am I the only one that hate watching a team constantly cheat.. for me diving, rolling around and play acting is normally why I don't watch the World Cup or champions league.. it's not entertainment, it's just cheating

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 56 mins

    Argentina 2-0 France

Argentina are firmly in game management mode now.

They are slowing it down, taking the free-kicks, eating into time.

Rodrigo de Paul stays down after an Adrien Rabiot foul that earns the France midfielder a yellow card.
