That nasty looking head injury for Sam Hutchinson has changed what Wednesday were planning to do.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing should give them a bit more of a direct threat down their right. No sign of any Sunderland changes at present.

Losing Sam Hutchinson is a big loss. I hope he's ok.

That disruption also falls into Sunderland's hands, it will increase the stress levels of the Wednesday players and fans and the panic will start to set in.

Because Sam Hutchinson, who looked very groggy, has a possible concussion that doesn't count as one of their three subs.

Sam Hutchinson's day is over and Liam Palmer comes on to replace him at the back for Sheffield Wednesday.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing also replaces Jack Hunt at wing-back.

Calum Paterson was just about to come on too but that Hutchinson injury changed their plans.

Owls' Sam Hutchinson has his head bandaged up and Sunderland's Lynden Gooch is still getting treatment. A stretcher comes on but isn't needed.

The home fans are starting to lose patience here now. Wednesday have overplayed at the back a couple of times and in a game as tight as this they can ill-afford to give an easy chance away. Striker Lee Gregory has hardly had a kick this half. I wonder if Darren Moore will look to make a change soon.

Huge moment as Owls' Josh Windass hammers a ball across the six-yard box, it flies past the Sunderland keeper and a defender just turns it behind for a corner.

Owls' Jordan Storey sells keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell very short with a backpass and Ross Stewart races in to close him down. It's good play by BPF to just turn and boot the ball out for a throw-in rather than take the risk of kicking it down the pitch.

Sheffield Wednesday keep the pressure on from a corner and Jordan Storey heads wide from Josh Windass' inswinging cross.

Alex Pritchard has to wait until he can take this Sunderland corner and then he just hits the first man in Barry Bannan.
