'Lucy Bronze should have squared it'
Izzy Christiansen
Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live
Even at the age of 30, Lucy Bronze can still improve her end product for the number of times that she gets into attacking roles. Ellen White was waiting to tap home if Bronze had squared it.
England 1-0 Austria
We've got a little lull now. The first of the game, really. England just enjoying a bit of possession and their lead as the half ticks towards its conclusion.

England look very organised defensively and in attack; they've won the first contact almost every time at corners and set-pieces every time and looked strong and dominant. Fran Kirby is doing well at mopping up the second balls and keeping England safe.

Lucy Bronze should have had a shot. Pull the trigger!
In some ways the Austria boss will be the happier manager. It could have been more ruthless.
England 1-0 Austria
It doesn't matter how far over the line they are.
England 1-0 Austria
Sarah Zadrazil is occasionally putting her stamp on the game now. She's a player with heaps of quality who plays at a very high level with Bayern Munich domestically, and she's starting to have a bit of influence on this game and pull the strings, receiving the ball on the half-turn. She's actually got on the back of the shoulder of Georgia Stanway a couple of times and that's what I'd be wary of when playing Kirby and Stanway in those number 10 roles: leaving Keira Walsh isolated.
England 1-0 Austria
It is taking all manner of last-ditch tackles and interceptions to keep this England side at bay now.
Beth Mead's angled cross almost finds Lauren Hemp in the box but the Austrian keeper is out to claim just ahead of the England forward.
England 1-0 Austria
Some of the England build-up play is lovely. A few times, though, they've just failed with the final pass. This time Beth Mead sees her forward ball cut out with Lauren Hemp bombing on.
England 1-0 Austria
Ellen White punches the air after she slides in to stop an Austrian defender clearing. Leading from the front. Top work.
England 1-0 Austria
Another cross from Lauren Hemp is aimed towards Ellen White but this time it floats over the forward's head.

Former Manchester City and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
We've seen a lot of combination play and mixing it up from England, and it's nice to see some intricate play from the back from them. You can really exploit Austria's left-back [Hanshaw] going in behind - it's just a case of being clever about whether to run off the shoulder or go inside. I'm really happy.
England 1-0 Austria
Lucy Bronze is having a fine game. I mean, it is what she does.
She is perfectly placed to head clear a wicked curling corner from Austria. Fran Kirby completes the clearance.
There is a composure about England that we've not always seen. A clinical aspect to their play. It's business time.
England 1-0 Austria
Your opening goalscorer, ladies and gentlemen.
England 1-0 Austria
It feels a matter of time before England carve out another clear opening and take advantage. Lucy Bronze charges through the middle and England have a numerical advantage but Lauren Hemp is beaten trying to skip around her marker.

You'd have bet your house on Ellen White there.
England 1-0 Austria
Big chance!
It is all England, who come forward down the left with Lauren Hemp crossing for Ellen White to flash a header just wide of the far post.
Pretty much everyone in this ground thought that far side of the net was going to bulge.

Mark: C'mon England
Jack: Of course it had to be Beth Mead. Meado, Meado, Meado!
England 1-0 Austria
Austria are pinned back in their own half now. Beth Mead and Lucy Bronze combine down the right but they can't quite fashion a cross.

England need to keep their foot down, keep this momentum, shove it down the throat of Austria.
