Palace really don't like opening games do they?

They have won their first league match in only five of their 23 top-flight seasons (D7 L11), with this the 11th time they’ve failed to score in their season opener at this level.

I was massively impressed with Saliba. He’s such a young defender at 21. Getting through that second half, when Arsenal weren’t at their best, would have been the most pleasing thing for Mikel Arteta.

Matty: The substitutions from Arteta were bang on. Zinchenko started to look leggy at left-back and Jesus had run himself into the ground. Nketiah came on and essentially set up the second goal, and Palace didn't have a chance down Arsenal's left after Tierney came on.

Normal time is up. Palace are still trying to make something happen, but the fact the Arsenal fans are singing for Patrick Vieira suggests they think this is very much done and dusted.

    Here come some Arsenal changes.

Oleksandr Zinchenko's and Gabriel Jesus' debuts are over. Kieran Tierney and Eddie Nketiah come on to provide fresh legs at left-back and up top.

Palace continue to turn the screw.

There are half-hearted calls for a penalty before Wilfried Zaha sets up Jean-Philippe Mateta for a fluffed shot.

Soon after, Eberechi Eze goes down on the edge of the box but no foul is given. He did drop under minimum contact from Saka. It is all Palace, though.
