Nice moment at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper gets a standing ovation from the early arrivals as he steps onto the pitch for a television interview.

"It's our first home game back in the Premier League and it's going to be an incredible day," he says. "We have to live up to that."

  3. Team news - Awoniyi & Mangala make first startspublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 14 August 2022

Forest v West Ham (14:00 BST)

Nottingham Forest make two changes to the side which lost 2-0 at Newcastle on their return to the Premier League last week.

Defender Scott McKenna is fit despite picking up an injury in training so new signings Orel Mangala and Taiwo Awoniyi come in for their first Forest starts, replacing Jack Colback and Sam Surridge.

Nottingham Forest XI: Dean Henderson, Joe Worrall, Moussa Niakhate, Scott McKenna, Neco Williams, Lewis O'Brien, Orel Mangala, Harry Toffolo, Brennan Johnson, Jesse Lingard, Taiwo Awoniyi.

Subs: Wayne Hennessey, Giulian Alexis Andre Biancone, Steve Cook, Loic Mbe Soh, Sam Surridge, Alex Mighten, Cafu, Lyle Taylor, Oliver Hammond.

Lukasz Fabianski is able to keep his place in goal for West Ham despite going injured during last week's 2-0 defeat by Manchester City so David Moyes make just the one change.

Said Benrahma starts in midfield instead of Manuel Lanzini and new signing Maxwel Cornet could make his Hammers debut off the bench.

West Ham XI: Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell, Pablo Fornals, Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio.

Subs: Alphonse Areola, Darren Randolph, Gianluca Scamacca, Manuel Lanzini, Flynn Downes, Maxwel Cornet, Conor Coventry, Harrison Ashby.

Nottingham Forest announced late on Saturday they had completed the £20m signing of Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis and brought in former Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate on a free transfer.

It means 14 new signings have now arrived at the City Ground during the summer transfer window.

Nigeria's Dennis, 24, scored 10 league goals in 35 appearances for Watford last season.

Senegal's Kouyate, 32, was a free agent after his contract at Palace ended in July and has signed a two-year deal.

He played 31 times for the Eagles last season having joined the club from West Ham in 2018.

The last time the City Ground hosted Premier League football in 1999, Manchester United were good and on their way to winning a league, FA Cup and Champions League treble.

Gareth Southgate was the captain of Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest finished bottom despite Chris Bart-Williams' winner against Leicester on the final day.

Fast forward 23 years and Forest are back in the big time. Will they mark their first home game back in England's top flight with a win?
