Vicente Guaita is pushing his luck by dwelling on his goal-kicks. He just about gets away with it. A second longer and that is getting a yellow card.

Got bags of talent has Olise. Unlucky with injuries, though.

Now is not the time to go showing any silky skill, though. He's here to break this up and stop Liverpool playing.

Odsonne Edouard goes a bit far in that endeavour, standing in front a free-kick to stop it being taken. He's rightly booked.

    Two minutes left.

Paul Collins: How often does Andersen get away with pulling people or having arms around them? Nunez deserved the red for what he did at him but Andersen should have seen at least 2 yellows in this game alone. I’m a neutral and don’t support either but he’s a joke for doing that.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Michael Olise comes on for Palace. Off goes Jeff Schlupp.

    Close!

This is better from Salah. But not good enough. He takes the ball down on the edge of the box and fires a shot just wide as the Palace players charged at him.

  6. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

It has been a disappointing evening for Mo Salah so far. To underline that, he is needlessly caught offside to end another Liverpool attack.

  7. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Palace are not going to turn down a clear opportunity to break.

But there overriding concern is at the other end of the pitch. They are dug in deep, closing space, leaving little room for Liverpool.

    Five to go.

  8. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Palace defend the free-kick well. They win the initial header and then get back quickly into shape to stop the home side finding any gaps.

  9. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Liverpool have a free-kick in the Palace half over on the left. More defending for Palace to do.

You still feel there's a twist in this.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

    Subs for both sides.

Fabio Carvalho replaces Harvey Elliott for Liverpool. Chris Richards, Will Hughes and Luka Milivojevic bring fresh legs to Palace.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 78 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

    Should be 2-1 Palace!

They work space on the right for Cheick Doucoure to fire a low cross to the back post, where Wilfried Zaha is in all the space he needs.

He goes for the volley but fires his effort against the post and wide. Should possibly have used his left foot rather than his right.

Huge moment in the game. Huge let off for Liverpool.

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

So much pressure on Palace when they have the ball from this buzzing home side. Eberechi Eze looks to have done the tough bit to find space but then passes straight out of play.

  15. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Odsonne Edouard does his job to win a header from the corner and get the ball away from danger. There is a hint of a Palace counter, but Luis Diaz is back there to halt it. Brilliant at both ends of the pitch.

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

It remains a full-on Liverpool assault on the Palace goal.

Mo Salah is tackled and it brings the home side a corner.

Absolutely disgusting. I knew when this game started it would be "one of them" but Darwin! You have ruined your home debut. That is not the Liverpool way!

    Oliver, Barrow in Furness

That absolutely has to be an extended ban for Nunez. That wasn't your standard football "headbutt". 2 bites at the cherry and clear intent. Minimum 10 games.

Cheick Doucoure is down holding his boot. It looks like a genuine issue, but it also helps Palace get a breather. Gather their thoughts.

  19. Getting lively on the touchlinepublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 15 August 2022

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Palace counterpart Patrick Vieira are getting very lively in the technical area - but not with each other it should be stressed.

Klopp is demanding even more urgency from his players while Vieira was angry with Eberechi Eze for hanging on to the ball too long after a superb run.

    Awful effort!

Trent Alexander-Arnold gets in behind the Palace defence but he slices his shot dreadfully wide.

You would have zero idea here that Liverpool had a man less from the balance of play.
