Liverpool have finished the half off strongly in search of an equaliser but Wilfried Zaha is making the runs. The confidence and momentum he had after he scored is certainly making the difference for Crystal Palace.

Joseph: The way Liverpool are playing this could be 2 or 3 nil to palace… not able to properly break through that tough defence and no answer to the counter attack!

Paul Walmsley: Teams know how to beat Liverpool these days. Defend with 9 players in the box and counter. Guarantee the high line will allow at least a couple of chances against.

Well, this is a lot more interesting than I think a lot of people expected!

Palace were really under the cosh for the first 15 minutes, but since then they have played this to perfection.

Liverpool left to rue their missed chances, lick some wounds and come out swinging again.

The initial corner is cleared but Liverpool come again and find Darwin Nunez in space at the back post. His shot is unsettled by a sliding Nathaniel Clyne and the resulting bobbling effort hits the far post.

Virgil van Dijk looks to follow up, but slips and slices his effort.

A real let off for Palace. Poor finishing again from the home side.

It's less precise now from Liverpool, less slick. There is an element of hope rather design to their play.

Chance!

A cross from the right is headed on target by Harvey Elliott. Vicente Guaita should catch it, but allows it to drop and Joachim Anderson gets an inadvertent touch. It means Palace have to scramble behind for a Liverpool corner. Thankfully for the visitors, they are able to deal with the resulting set-piece.

Zaha again!

The forward is found by another neat pass between full-back and centre-half. His first touch is heavy, though, after gathering and it allows Alisson to get out and block his attempt to lift the ball in.

This is a proper contest.

Five minutes until the break. Who saw this then, eh?

The home fans didn't judging by the mood and shellshocked feel to the place.

Crystal Palace take the lead. Absolutely unbelievable. They have hardly had a kick but the counter-attack has played wonders. Wilfried Zaha one-on-one. The inquest will follow but Anfield is stunned.

Palace are buzzing with belief now.

Cheick Doucoure lines a shot up from range but gets it all wrong and fires high and wide. Soon after, Wilfried Zaha sees an effort saved.

Trent Alexander-Arnold sees two shots blocked by the Palace defence, who continue to frustrate the home side.

Liverpool have now conceded first for the sixth game running.

That was Crystal Palace's first shot of the game. They had had just one touch in the Liverpool box before it. The Reds have had 11 attempts on goal and 25 touches in the Palace box.

Football eh, you've gotta love it.
