Scott Parker's men need to stay in the game, even at 2-0 down. It's critical that they keep it at 2-0 or try to get a goal back before half time. If they let a third in, it's dead and buried.

    Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal in their salmon coloured kits are leaping to the top of the Premier League table with three wins from three, as it stands.

They've had 73% possession so far and are threatening to run riot on the south coast.

Usually Bournemouth press really well but at 2-0 down it's knocked the stuffing out of them and that press is just a little bit fractured. Because of that, Arsenal are playing through them with ease.

Both goals just seemed to fall into Odegaard's lap, he sauntered into the box on two occasions and stroked it home with that beautiful left foot of his.

    FT: Leicester 1-2 Southampton

    Leicester City

More from Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers on Wesley Fofana and Youri Tielemans being linked with moves away: "I don't know. There have been a few offers in for some players nowhere near the valuation the club would want to sell. None of them are for sale but I know how the game works. There are a few weeks to go, I don't know what's going to happen."

This is absolutely devastating from the Gunners. Superb play by this young group.

    And it's two.

It's a double in the first 11 minutes for Martin Odegaard, sweeping in as he took the ball off the toe of striker Gabriel Jesus.

It came from Ben White's pullback and after a check from VAR, the goal stands as the defender timed his run to perfection.

What a start from the Gunners!

  12. 'We deserved to go in front and then we stopped'published at 17:39 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    FT: Leicester 1-2 Southampton

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to BBC Sport: "It was a culmination of everything. We've been here the last time, 2-0 up and we stopped taking the ball and gave the initiative to them [in the 2-2 draw with Brentford on the opening day].

"We started the game very well - with energy, intensity, passing, movement. We deserved to go in front and then we stopped. You have to be able to manage the game. We sunk deeper and they gained confidence after scoring out of nothing.

"It was a very frustrating game. The players' attitude and energy was what you'd want. Once we went in front we did what we have been doing. It's just constant work.

"It was important for us today that we managed the ball when we took the lead but we didn't do that. We looked nervous. That's a little bit of desperation in wanting to get the result.

"The players are really good lads. We'll go away and look to improve."

On Wesley Fofana being left out and Youri Tielemans not starting amid transfer rumours: "We'll wait to see what happens in the transfer window. There are players here looking to play. Youri ands Wesley, I have no problems. But if your mind isn't quite on playing, this is a level you have to be totally concentrated on. I don't know [what will happen]. We have to wait and see."

What a touch from Jesus. He runs at three Bournemouth defenders and plays a no look pass into Martinelli's path and the rebound falls to Odegaard. That was so so smooth from Arsenal.

  14. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 5 mins

    Martin Odegaard

    Breakthrough!

None of those three score, it is the new captain Martin Odegaard with a tap-in to give Arsenal the lead.

It comes following stunning football from the visitors, Gabriel Jesus trapping a high ball, turning his man before slipping Gabriel Martinelli in on goal.

The Brazilian sets himself and sees his low drive saved by Mark Travers but the Norwegian is in the right place for the easiest of finishes.

  19. 'Football is cruel'published at 17:27 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    FT: Fulham 3-2 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: "Football is cruel, especially when you lose in the last minute. Maybe even more when you recover from 2-0 down. Apart from the first 20 mins and the last five minutes we played a good game. The mentality and desire got us back into the game. We always want to try and go for the win, and that is our offensive mentality.

"They scored before 60 seconds and that made them on top in the game. We could have maybe done something differently and then it was a ricochet and it went to them.

"It was a local derby and they came with an unbelievable intensity but it's football and it happens in the game.

"Coming down from 2-0 to 2-2 is extraordinary in the Premier League and we have done that twice. I'm pleased with a few things even though we lost. It is a maximum of 24 hours of celebrating or being down but tomorrow we need to focus and go again."
