West Ham 0-0 Brighton

There is a VAR check. The question is was the foul inside or outside the box? It started outside and continued to the line of the box. It's close.

And the decision is... PENALTY.

They weren't helped by Dan James' sending off, but Leeds were utterly outclassed by Chelsea here in May. They've already shown more channelled fight and competence in this opening 20 minutes than they did in that game.

Brighton have a penalty.

West Ham's last Premier League goal came against Brighton, on the final day of last season.

They are hoping to avoid losing their opening three top-flight games without scoring for the first time since 1971.

Leeds have some pressing game of their own. It takes some wily work from Edouard Mendy and Marc Cucurella to get out of one potentially sticky situation.

Brighton were the only club to remain unbeaten in Premier League games in London last season - with three wins and three draws.

Chelsea's pressing game is starting to cause Leeds some issues. They're dwelling on it at times at the back and this is inviting Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz to try and cause mischief.

Raheem Sterling curls into the far corner but the flag is up.

The replay shows the forward was off as well as he received Marc Cucurella's chipped ball over the top.

Sterling will have to wait for his first Blues goal. It's yet another warning for Leeds, though.

West Ham fans shout for a penalty but luckily for the referee he doesn't need to make a decision.

Michail Antonio was well offside before he touched the ball past Rob Sanchez and was bundled over by the keeper. It would have been a pen though.

Apparently Brighton put out Joel Veltman as the player to do pre-match press duties... because every time they do that, they win. Let's see if that pattern holds today.

Kai Havertz looks to be away for a second down the left, but play is halted. The flag is up after the German went a fraction early.

The tackles continue to fly in. It's breathless stuff played out in a red hot atmosphere.

Brenden Aaronson just never stops moving.

Alexis Mac Allister whips in the corner but it's a simple catch for West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Joel Veltman's cross doesn't quite land to Danny Welbeck and Leandro Trossard has a shot blocked at the far post. Corner to Brighton.

Brenden Aaronson is already buzzing around to help Leeds drive forward.

He is held back by Kalidou Koulibaly in the Chelsea half, who gets the game's first booking.

This is frantic stuff. It's great.

Very good reaction from Leeds there, almost losing a goal but came straight back and standing up to Chelsea.

Chelsea have a brilliant start to the game, game is starting very lively.

The first flash point. Ruben Loftus-Cheek catches Pascal Struijk in the face with a late shoulder barge after the latter won a header. He jumped in with no chance of winning the ball. He's fortunate to escape a booking.

It's nowt compared to what Ron Harris and Billy Bremner got up to though.

Leandro Trossard plays a lovely ball over the top to Danny Welbeck. The old school Welbeck would have been away but the 2022 Brighton version has to cut back and the move comes to nothing.

A clash of heads between West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek and Moises Caicedo and referee Anthony Taylor stops play to make sure the Brigton player is OK. Luckily he is.

I realise this is still very early in this game, but if it finishes 0-0 I'll be stunned.
