Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, speaking to BT Sport: "It wasn’t really pretty from our side. We nearly lost the game at the end, so I’m happy with the point. Maybe they deserve it a bit more than us today.

"Today was about trying to win the game and play well, and we didn’t do it. We lost a lot of energy against City and it was difficult physically. At the end of the game we looked tired with a lack of energy. It became really difficult for us.

"I think we had a tough pre-season. That’s never going to change from us. There are a lot of details we need to improve if we want to win football matches."

On Michael Olise's performance: "There’s a long way to go but it was nice to see him back. He’s going to be an important player for us."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We conceded the goal [at the end]. There's a lot of frustration to concede a goal like that.

"At the end they had two chances to score and we didn't concede. Looking at how the game ended up, I'm happy with the point.

"We didn't create very much. We didn't find space to create those chances and we needed space."

On Wilfried Zaha's goal: "Wilfried delivered. After that, we gave them too much time on the ball."

Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think it was a brilliant game of football, in many ways. I think we edged it in the first half without being really dominant.

"Zaha then scored an unbelievable goal. What a goal - it's touch, move, boom!

"A point away in the Premier League is so hard to get in every game, but then we had those two big chances. If you look at the game, I'm very pleased with many things. We have that never-say-die attitude, that's the fourth time now that we've come back [this season]

"We'll take the point, but I’d have rather had three.

"I think if you look at the performances overall [this season], I think we could have maybe had ten points."

Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "Soft, soft, soft defending. There is no need to give shots away. Just toughen up as a team and show a different mentality."

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva to BBC MOTD: "Great, great win for us. We have beaten a great squad and they are difficult to beat and control in certain moments in the game. The way they created chances and didn't give many chances away to other sides - we did that in some moments really well.

"We could be a bit more calm in the final instance. We knew before the match that they have many plans and the capacity to change things during the match and they did that. We changed some things at half time, I wanted the wingers higher and more aggressive. We did it really well. The early goal gave us the boost. After the penalty we controlled the game really well. I think we deserve the three points. I'm really proud of my players.

"It was fantastic. We showed the maturity and belief in ourselves. We controlled the extra time as well. All the credit to the players for the way they stuck to the plan and the spirit they showed on the pitch. All the respect to Brighton. They are a great team. The players know each other well, they have a good coach and players. They are tough to beat at home."

On Aleksandar Mitrovic: "He was unbelievable. Not just because he scored. All strikers need goals and you could see after he scored it was a boost for him and he was everywhere. He was good on the ball but off the ball he was unbelievable. He is not jsut a goalscorer for us, he is much more than that."

On the transfer window: "We are working on it. Tomorrow and Thursday for sure they will come because we need numbers and we are working on it."

I understand the interest in Gordon. The price tag is overinflated, but what he is doing is improving week in, week out. Chelsea are wanting to pay for potential, and he put in a really good performance tonight.

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is not enough to win away matches, it is not enough to play 20-25 minutes on the level we want. It is too easy to put us off balance, to beat us, to confuse us. It is too easy. It happened against Leeds. We need to understand why and find solutions.

"We lose concentration, we lose our plan and lose consistency, it is too easy to beat us.

"A lot of key players are injured, it is something I don't really understand. You can always lose football matches and I am humble enough to admit this but in a match where you are in the lead there is no need to give away half chances. To have no answers in the second half was disappointing.

"We need to have answers, we need to step up and play a level higher if needed. We struggled to do this."

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva to BT Sport: "Great result for us. Great result because we beat a very, very good team. They are really tough to play against. Not just the results until now but the way they play - the way they score goals and didn't give chances for opposition sides. A great result for us definitely. I am really proud of the players.

"We started well. We knew clearly the plan and they stuck with it. We probably could have scored or at least created more chances in that moment. They changed formation and started to control a little more. We lost a bit of confidence in that moment. We changed somethings then of course the early goals in the second half helped. After that, even with the penalty they scored, we controlled the game well. I have to congratulate our players.

"[Aleksandar Mitrovic] is unbelievable. He is not just a goalscorer for us. He is much more for me and the club as well. He scored as well. It's important for him to feel confident and he needs that but he is much more than that. The work he did without the ball was unbelievable. We demand it from him but he did it really well.

"Last season we worked in the same way. We have not changed many things. Most of it is the way we want to play on the ball. Off the ball we have to be organised. All the squad I have to congratulate. Our organisation has been good. It gives us the confidence and belief we are in the right way."

On Willian and Justin Kluivert potentially signing for the club: "We have some to come. Of course today was a matchday so there is not much update but for sure we have players to come and we are working to achieve it."

Gary: Every Chelsea manager seems to have a great first nine months, then it goes pear shaped.

Richard: Tuchel has until Xmas to make this new look Chelsea to gel. If not in the top four position by then he is gone.

Shane: £170m spent in the summer. Lose 3-0 to Leeds and 2-1 to Saints in 10 days, crisis mode? No. Of course not.

Southampton

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl: "It is not enough to get good words after the game but no points, today we had to take the situations when they came to score.

"Even when we were 1-0 down I didn't feel we were struggling. With this effort you deserve a lot."

Something special brewing? "Yes. I said it from the first day that we have the feeling that we have a team that is young but there is a lot of empty space on the hard disk and they can learn. They have fun working hard, they have fun running a lot and, when the moment comes, they have fun scoring goals.

"We have won one time away at Chelsea since I was here, that was four years ago but at home not for a while and it was time to take something."

On Romeo Lavia: "The negative thing is he is maybe injured now for a few weeks, so not perfect."

Southampton

Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhuttl, speaking to Match of the Day: “We deserved to take something today - on Saturday we played a good game and today we took what we deserved because we were fighting unbelievable, two times on the line they made a save and overall it was what people want to see, a team fighting for everything, and the perfect performance.

“We have this DNA, we want to do this against every opponent and we never stop running, this is a way you can hurt big teams when you do it committed - it was not so clear after Saturday how fresh we were tonight, but we can show this.”

On Romeo Lavia’s goal: “It will not be the last one coming here and showing up, this is our philosophy and we are going (to continue).”

On Adam Armstrong: “For him, I am happy the most that he scores his goal because of what he works in general this season. I very often criticised him or took him off, but we found a position he really likes and can put all his effort in and I am very happy to see such a performance.

“We had a lot of changes in the team, a lot of young players, a very young back four and goalkeeper but they have shown they are learning very quickly. We are not scared and it is enjoyable to work with because they take immediately what you want them to do.”

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BT Sport: "We started well in all the games almost but obviously we are struggling with our focus and consistency in matches. We struggled to find answers and find the way back if things don't go in our direction. Things did go in our direction today but then we struggled after the equaliser.

"I don't know if concern is the right word. I absolutely dislike to lose, it is the second time this season and I don't think it takes a lot to beat us and this I don't like.

"We try to win matches and the way we do this is something we need to understand as fast as possible. I also don't understand why we are in this situation with injuries to all midfield.

"I think in the first 20 minutes we created half chances but struggled to score. That is also not brand new for us and that doesn't necessarily have the consequence you can lose matches, you can win 1-0."

A full-blooded, entertaining game ends in a draw.

Leeds had most of the play and chances. Anthony Gordon nicked one on the break to boost his potential transfer fee further and Luis Sinisterra scored his first Premier League goal to ultimately get Leeds a point.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter to BBC MOTD: "Frustrated with the performance and the result. I can't say we deserved anything from the game. Not our best night. We didn't play well enough in the first half then we gave away a couple of cheap goals in the second half. We were up against it, the response was good, but not enough. Fulham deserved the win.

"We made the changes but couldn't quite get a foothold in the game. I think it helped us a little but overall it wasn't a good enough performance from us. The first goal was a second phase in a set-piece which was disappointing. The second one is a mistake on a counter-attack. Those things happen in football.

"We've had a good run but we have to be honest enough when we haven't played at the level. We need to learn from that and dust ourselves off for the weekend.

"It's not a surprise because you know how competitive the league is. Fulham are fighting for the points like everyone else is. There's no easy game. We've had a good start but we don't think we've cracked football that's for sure.

"The penalty gave us a bit of a lifeline. We pushed and pushed from that point but overall it was not enough."
