This is a seriously impressive performance from Arsenal. They've come so close to scoring so many times. Martinelli has just had a volley that was heading for the top corner tipped over by Martinez. Arteta will be happy at the break.
Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa
Superb save by Emi Martinez to keep it 1-0 as he flings himself at a Gabriel Martinelli shot on the half volley that seemed certain to be heading into the top corner.

Simon: Everyone talking about Man City winning the league, but there is currently only one 100% record, and it ain't them.
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
It's half-time in the Erling Haaland show.
Bournemouth 0-0 Wolves
Familiar problems for Wolves. They play some neat and tidy football but just nothing happening for them in the final third. Into three minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle

Newcastle's new striker Alexander Isak is easing his way in at Anfield. He had a half chance which he created for himself but shot well off target.
Keeper Nick Pope seems to have recovered well after having treatment early on and Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe will be reasonably satisfied with what he has seen so far.
Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa
Gabriel Jesus is yet to lose a single Premier League match in which he's found the net (48 - W45 D3 before tonight).
Not a good omen for Aston Villa.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle

Isak is not letting Gomez and Van Dijk take their time. Sometimes you can get caught on the ball. Isak is reminding all of the defenders that they aren't going to get that time tonight. It's a good start from the new boy.

Josh: Haaland needs to increase the difficulty, he's definitely got it on amateur.
Millington: Yeah yeah yeah, Haaland Haaland blah blah blah BUT can he do it in the Premier League?!
DJ Williams: Man City to score 10 + goals and Haaland to get half of them. He will also get 40 plus goals. As a Liverpool fan I feel sick.
West Ham 0-0 Tottenham
Harry Kane plays a nice through ball into Dejan Kulusevski, who tries to slide it across for Son Heung-min, but the South Korean was too far ahead of it.
Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa
Almost a second for Arsenal as Matt Cash clears off the line from a scramble before Kieran Tierney's shot is blocked.
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Erling Haaland (nine) has scored more Premier League goals than 15 of the 20 Premier League teams this season, including Chelsea (six) and Manchester United (four).
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Julian Alvarez almost gets in on the act. He drifts past two or three defenders and cannons a shot off the far post.
West Ham 0-0 Tottenham
Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has a shot but it's a simple save for the West Ham keeper.
Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa
The biggest shock in this game is that it is still 1-0. It has been total dominance from Arsenal and Aston Villa look nervous, highlighted by Emi Martinez dragging the ball behind to concede a corner.
Man City 3-0 Nottingham Forest

That is not just hat-tricks in successive games, it is hat-tricks in successive halves.
Incredible.
West Ham 0-0 Tottenham
Spurs have Yves Bissouma and Davinson Sanchez booked in separate incidents a couple of minutes apart.
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Erling Haaland's record of nine goals after five Premier League appearances is a new record in the competition.
He has scored nine goals in August, the most by any player in a single Premier League season.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Isak looks lively, he's made a lot of good runs.
