Jamie: If Haaland keeps on getting hat-tricks like this, he is going to need a very large room to store all of the match balls...
Fizzy_B: Haaland the Handful. Plus he gets to rest during the World Cup. Is this not him still warming up? Amazing player.
Gluk: I'll be surprised if Haaland doesn't score during the halftime break.

Newcastle have set up well just to frustrate Liverpool at the moment.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
... Kieran Trippier bends the free kick just over the wall but too close to Alisson.
West Ham 0-1 Tottenham
Son Heung-min has a chance for a one-on-one... but he gets too much power onto a simple header into his own path and it runs away from home.
He'll be annoyed Thilo Kehrer didn't let him have his first goal of the season there.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
Fabinho catches Joe Willock and Newcastle have a free kick in prime Kieran Trippier territory...
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
Liverpool win a corner after a fine move down the left. The ball is sent in but Joelinton gets a flick to take it just beyond Mo Salah.
West Ham 0-1 Tottenham
Since the start of the 2020-21 season, West Ham have scored more own goals than any other team in the Premier League (seven).

Nick: Arsenal win first 4 games, doesn't count because they haven't played a 'real team' yet. Haaland gets a hattrick against Forest, declared the best striker of all time. Make it make sense.
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
You: May we please have some more Erling Haaland stats.
Data analysts Gracenote...
Haaland is the seventh player to score a hat-trick in successive Premier League appearances after Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane (twice).
Haaland is the fourth player to score multiple hat-tricks for Manchester City in a single Premier League season, after Sergio Aguero (four times), Raheem Sterling and Carlos Tevez.

Can we just say, all this chat about Haaland. The league isn't won in August. Having said that, I don't fancy anyone else's chances, do you?
Rob
Haaland might have started ok, but can he do it on a wet Wednesday at Stoke?
Conrad, West Yorskire
Never mind Kane closing in on Shearer's record, Haaland will probably do it by the end of this season! Ha!
Ant C
West Ham 0-1 Tottenham
West Ham immediately seek an equaliser but Said Benrahma's 20-yard shot is simple for Hugo Lloris.

Alistair: It's amazing how Arsenal have changed. Saka barely getting a run at anyone as all our attacks seem to come from the left, with Xhaka getting so far forward supporting. It's good, but If Saka becomes a bit part player other teams will come sniffing...
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
Luis Diaz surges forward to get into space and then cuts the ball back but it is just behind Mo Salah. The forward's wait for a first home goal of the season goes on.
Thilo Kehrer own goal (34 mins)
Spurs take the lead.
Harry Kane starts the move in his own half, standard stuff these days, and plays it to Dejan Kulusevski down the right.
Kulusevski runs all the way into the box and then plays it to the overlapping... Kane.
Kane rolls the ball across the six-yard box and just before Son Heung-min can bundle it in, Thilo Kehrer puts it into his own net.

Perhaps City sold Jesus to Arsenal just to have a glimmer of competition?
Ian
Not wanting to be too optimistic, but this Arsenal team might just be good enough to finish second this season.

Great move from Newcastle. It's about a yard over the bar but that just shows that Newcastle can create good chances. The Liverpool defence have to concentrate.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
Ryan Fraser is not far off with a shot that flies just over the bar. Decent contest this, very open.
Bournemouth 0-0 Wolves
Goalless at the break but Bournemouth are applauded off after a decent performance.
Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Erling Haaland just touched the ball 12 times in that half - six attempted passes, four accurate ones, four shots, three shots on target, three goals.
