    Sidenetting!

Newcastle take a corner short and the ball is chipped to the back post for the arriving Joelinton, but he can't quite steer his effort on target.

  4. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Southampton's first real attack of the game sees Che Adams pick out Joe Aribo deep inside the area, but Ruben Neves is on hand to prevent the former Rangers man from getting his shot off.

Good defending from the Wolves skipper.

West Ham get in behind the Chelsea back line a couple of times but can't fashion a shooting chance.

  6. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Another chance for Newcastle.

Tough one this as Miguel Almiron latches on to a ball on the edge of the box. He lashes his effort way over.

    Spurs 0-0 Fulham

Spurs have a free-kick a good 30 yards out, which Eric Dier slams straight into the wall. The rebound drops for Son Heung-min, whose volley is held by Bernd Leno.

    What a chance!

St James' Park was just waiting to celebrate after Alexander Isak strode through on goal there. He won't get a better opportunity than that this game, but he fluffed it.

Chelsea have had 77.2% possession over the opening 15 minutes of this game. No chances, though.

  10. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Spurs 0-0 Fulham

Aleksandar Mitrovic shoots wide for Fulham. He has attempted 23 shots this season, more than any other player in the Premier League.

  11. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Chance for the home side.

Alexander Isak gets in behind the Palace defence after a mistake from Joachim Anderson. He has just the keeper to beat but his chip lacks conviction and Vicente Guaita saves.

Golden opportunity for the home debutant.

  12. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Matheus Nunes plays in Pedro Neto, who cuts on to his left foot but drags his low effort wide of the near post.

A fine Wolves opportunity goes begging.

  13. 'Sterling looks as bright as a button'published at 15:14 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Chelsea 0-0 West Ham

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Hasn't Raheem Sterling started well? He looks as bright as a button. That's a great run from deep from 30-35 yards out and Chelsea get another corner.

  14. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Spurs 0-0 Fulham

Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira shoots wide from distance.

Let's see if he carries on his 'do something when he's on my fantasy football bench, do nothing when he's in my XI' policy. He's on my bench today.

  15. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace have weathered the early storm and are now looking much more composed and a threat on the break. Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha are looking to cause bother.

  16. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Bournemouth

Little happening here in terms of goalmouth action, both keepers are yet to be called into action.

The two newly promoted sides need to up the quality if they are to fashion an opportunity this afternoon.

Newcastle still quicker to the ball than Palace so far. Miguel Almiron has had three chances to pick out team-mates with crosses when deep in the Palace box and also took a poor touch when put clean through by Joelinton.

It perhaps shows why Newcastle were looking to boost options out wide in the window, especially when Allan Saint-Maximin is injured.

Patrick Vieira is cutting a frustrated figure on the touchline so far.

Chelsea are yet to get going. A cross is cut out. No shots for either team yet.

  19. 'More reckless than anything else'published at 15:11 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Chelsea 0-0 West Ham

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was booked a minute ago for a foul

It's not a great challenge from Ruben Loftus-Cheek. I wouldn't say he is a defensive player - it was more reckless than anything else.

  20. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Spurs 0-0 Fulham

Spurs have the ball in the back of the net... but the flag is up.

Son Heung-min crosses from the left wing and it sails straight in.

Harry Kane was trying to get a diving header onto it and was in an offside position - so he was interfering with play.
