Loving this kick about, can't remember the last time I saw Arsenal play like this! Top of the table going into the international break, fingers crossed we can play like this against Spurs and Liverpool

    Jonathan Overend
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports commentator

You look at someone like Granit Xhaka and you think, 'there's a guy who’s captained this side in plenty of seasons previous and effectively had it taken off him when it was given to Odegaard'. And yet he is the leader today and he’s always the leader.

A couple of weeks ago, Mikel Arteta said that you can give Xhaka any job, armband or not, and he’ll still be the leader.

This would have been the pick of the lot.

Centre-back Gabriel lets the ball drop and smacks one from a long way out, which drifts just over the bar.

There's a break in play as Brentford midfielder Mathias Jensen needs treatment.

Actually he can't continue and Shandon Baptiste is on.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 66 mins

    Brentford 0-3 Arsenal

    Superb football from Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka already has two assists and now looks for a goal, but his carefully placed strike from the edge of the box is brilliantly kept out by David Raya's flying save.

Where are the weaknesses in this Arsenal side then?

They look pretty good from 1 to 11.

Men against boys. Least arsenal could do is even it up a little by playing the 15 year old sub.

Arsenal may have had a so called easy start to the season, but so have City, and it's Arsenal who are top.

Pascal: I hope Toney is enjoying this kick around.

Joe Gibney: Despite the lack of games, this weekend's goals could have a Goal Of The Month competition all to themselves.

Mwamburi: Xhaka has been truly been reborn.

Granit Xhaka into the book, what a surprise that is...said no-one ever!

The Swiss international gets a soft yellow card for blocking off David Raya while the goalkeeper tried to get the ball upfield.

Could have been a fourth but David Raya makes a very good save to deny Gabriel Jesus from close range.

Arsenal are ripping Brentford to shreds here.

Bit late getting stuck in now for Brentford as Mathias Jensen and Ivan Toney sandwich Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.

Where were those challenges earlier in the game??

  20. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Brentford 0-3 Arsenal

This is lovely from Ivan Toney, getting a lay-off from Mathias Jensen and flicking the ball into the air before volleying narrowly over.

I can see him smashing that into the top corner against France in the knockout stages of the World Cup.
