  1. Sutton's predictionpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 18 September 2022

    Brentford v Arsenal (12:00 BST)

    Sutton

Chris Sutton takes on Editors bassist and Aston Villa fan Russell Leetch to pick his winners and losers for the weekend's Premier League games.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

Brentford got off to a great start last season by beating Arsenal at home in their first game after being promoted, and there will be a cracking atmosphere there this time too.

The Gunners have improved a lot from 12 months ago, but the Bees have shown recently against Manchester United and Leeds that they carry a real threat.

So, this will be a tough test for Arsenal - and I just have a sneaky feeling that Brentford will get something out of the game.

    Russell's prediction: 2-3

This will be a goal fest! I've been impressed by Arsenal so far, but I just feel like this is going to be one of those crazy games.

  2. Isak scores but Newcastle heldpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 18 September 2022

Alexander Isak scored his first goal at St James' Park but Newcastle remain without a win since the opening day of the Premier League season after being held by a disciplined Bournemouth.

Eddie Howe's side fell behind against his former club when midfielder Philip Billing stretched to steer a Jordan Zemura cross from the left-hand wing past Nick Pope with just over an hour gone.

Five minutes later Newcastle were level as Isak - a club record £60m summer signing from Real Sociedad - converted a penalty after Jefferson Lerma was adjudged to have handled a Kieran Trippier cross by the video assistant referee.

The draw is Newcastle's fifth of the season and stretches their winless run to six games, although they climb to 10th in the table.

Bournemouth have now claimed five points from an available nine under caretaker manager Gary O'Neil to leave them 12th.

Erling Haaland scored again but Jack Grealish could not have asked for a better response to his growing band of critics.

After having both his performances for Manchester City and his place in the England squad called into question, Grealish responded with his first goal of the season, after just 55 seconds, against Wolves on Saturday.

The forward was also at the centre of most of the visitors' attacking play as he helped Pep Guardiola's men cruise to a 3-0 victory.

The result sees City head into the international break on top of the table after scoring 23 times in seven Premier League matches, while in Haaland they have a striker in red-hot form with 14 goals in nine games in all competitions.

  5. Rodgers vows 'to fight on' - but can he survive?published at 10:52 British Summer Time 18 September 2022

    Tottenham 6-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers plans to "fight on", admitting he understands the scrutiny on his job - but can he turn it around?

The Foxes are bottom of the table with just one point from their opening seven games - their worst start since 1983 - following Saturday's 6-2 rout at Tottenham.

The scoreline itself was misleading, with Son Heung-min coming off the bench to score a hat-trick in what had been an otherwise close game.

But the fact it made it six defeats in a row for the Foxes is the problem.

Rodgers is just one of four managers to lead Leicester to a trophy, their first FA Cup just 16 months ago.

So how much credit does he have in the bank?
