This is the first meeting between the two sides in a league fixture for more than eight years, when a Championship match at the City Ground ended 2-2, but the two teams have met this year with Forest, then in the second tier, stunning Leicester 4-1 in the FA Cup.

Forest, eighth in the Championship, took the lead with a well-worked goal that saw Keinan Davis head down Brennan Johnson's cross and Philip Zinckernagel poking the ball past Danny Ward.

Within 30 seconds, the hosts had doubled their advantage, Johnson finishing after a terrible backpass from James Justin. It became 3-0 when returning captain Joe Worrall powered in a header at the back post from James Garner's corner.

Premier League Leicester were handed a lifeline as home goalkeeper Brice Samba made an error and that enabled Kelechi Iheanacho to roll the ball into an unguarded net, but they were not able to fight back.

Forest restored their three-goal advantage when Djed Spence raced through and slid the ball past Ward.

That's a big show of faith that Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has put in his goalkeeper Danny Ward, who has conceded 11 goals in his past two games.

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper makes three changes to the side beaten by Fulham last time out including a recall for Jesse Lingard.

Lewis O'Brien and Cheikhou Kouyate also start, with Willy Boly, Ryan Yates and Remo Freuler dropping to the bench.

On the face of it, a first top flight meeting between these two fierce local rivals, currently bottom and second bottom in the Premier League, is not the most obvious half and half scarf territory.

Local police are out in force to prevent a repeat of the ugly scenes in January, when these sides met at the City Ground and 10 people were arrested.

This is how it looks in the bottom half of the Premier League.

A Nottingham Forest win will take them out of the relegation zone and up to 17th, but a loss will leave them below Leicester and bottom of the table.

It has been a rotten start to the season for both Leicester City and Nottingham Forest, who are 20th and 19th respectively in the Premier League table.
