  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Down goes Jadon Sancho inside the Newcastle box!

Penalty?! The referee doesn't give it, instead awarding a free-kick to Newcastle.

It's going to be checked by VAR... Nope, nothing given. There appears to be contact, but apparently not enough.

    Leeds 0-1 Arsenal

Luis Sinisterra has had a good game for Leeds. He carries it past Ben White in the middle and wins a free-kick as the Arsenal defender comes back to shove him off it.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

A third change for Chelsea with England midfielder Conor Gallagher replacing the quiet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Raheem Sterling, who started off today in a wing-back role, is now a makeshift centre forward.

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

Lucas Paqueta is down receiving treatment after taking a blow to the shoulder.

A view of the West Ham bench shows Said Benrahma is preparing to come on.

Southampton haven't managed a shot after the restart. It's all West Ham for now.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

    Alistair Magowan

It's only 10 minutes into the second half, but Chelsea already look a lot more resolute as Kalidou Koulibaly and Cesar Azpilicueta slot into the defence and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is now back into midfield.

Villa are still asking questions, though.

That is some finish from Saka! He has had a lot of space on that right side and looked dangerous. However, Rodrigo made a terrible pass after he played the ball without looking. Saka is right behind him and what a brilliant finish that was. He just clips it with pace into the roof of the net.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Villa's Ollie Watkins jinks on to his right foot inside the penalty area, but, off balance, can only send his shot off for a throw-in.

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Bruno Fernandes plays in Cristiano Ronaldo, who goes down under a challenge from Kieran Trippier to the left of the goal. VAR has a look, but a goal-kick is awarded. It was a bit of a tangle really as Ronaldo attempted to get a shot away.

  9. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Villa's Jacob Ramsey get to the byeline down the right after being played in by Leon Bailey but substitute Kalidou Koulibaly is there to head away.

But Villa come again, and once again a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal is again shown, with Ollie Watkins, for the second time in a matter of minutes nodding wide of target.

Steven Gerrard will be furious if his side leave emptyhanded today. For large parts, they have been the better side.

GOAL - Leeds 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Bukayo Saka (34 mins)

    What a finish!!!

This is such a good goal from Bukayo Saka. It's switched over to Saka on the right. He links up with Martin Odegaard, gets in behind and the angle is tight but he absolutely smashes it into the roof of the net.

How he managed to beat the goalkeeper from there...

The league leaders are in front at Elland Road.

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

Gianluca Scamacca is looking lively for West Ham.

The Italian forward, who has scored in his last two league games, has had six of West Ham's 14 attempts as the Hammers push for an equaliser.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Aston Villa are continuing to have success down the flanks and veteran centre-half Thiago Silva twice has to cut out crosses.

With the second one he sends it behind for a corner, with him then winning the near-post header for another corner for Villa.

That finds Ollie Watkins but the England man, under pressure from Kepa Arrizabalaga, can only head just wide. Another good chance comes and goes for Villa.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

    Bizarre!

Cristiano Ronaldo believes Newcastle have taken their free-kick following his offside and nips in to take the ball away from Nick Pope and once again roll the ball into the Newcastle net.

The referee isn't having it, and Ronaldo gets booked for his protests.

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

Martin Odegaard is a long way out with the free-kick but he goes over the wall and tries to put it into the bottom right corner.

Illan Meslier gets down low to gather it in, though it was probably heading just wide anyway.

Leeds are a joy to watch when they attack, such skills in their play and also their willingness to work hard. They've all done well in that front four but Rodrigo in particular has spectacular vision. He just seems to have that 360 vision and understand where everyone is. He plays the correct pass.

Gabriel Jesus is fouled in the middle as Arsenal play some lovely football. He manages to poke it across to Gabriel Martinelli before he goes down. Martinelli is free in the box and is about to shoot but the referee pulls it back. Granit Xhaka is complaining about it. He wanted to play on.

  18. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 16 October 2022

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Cristiano Ronaldo is offside, so clearly offside, but there's no flag.

Newcastle almost stop playing it's that obvious but United go on and Ronaldo pops the ball in to the net.

Then, belatedly, up goes the flag.

Jack Harrison is played in on the right. He has numbers in the box but takes far too long to make a decision. In the end he leaves it to Brenden Aaronson and he crosses it straight out for a goal kick. Poor.
