Striking how all Liverpool's outfield players went to congratulate Roberto Firmino on his goal after a difficult week following his omission from Brazil's World Cup squad.

Jurgen Klopp, who is watching this from the main stand as he serves a touchline ban, greeted the goal with a huge smile.

It's pretty open at the City Ground as both teams look to cause harm on the break. No clear-cut chances yet but the away fans have been letting of flares since before kick-off and are enjoying themselves.

First bit of Spurs pressure but Leeds deal with it.

Dejan Kulusevski was able to get a low ball in from the right, aimed towards Harry Kane, but Liam Cooper ensures it doesn't reach its target.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "The best team won, we struggled from the beginning and we couldn't deal with their long balls.

"Usually you press the balls to win it but this was different. They defended so deep and so well.

"We didn't have the dynamic today because we were dictated by long balls that we were losing.

"The game was so difficult, it was so tight.

"They did really well in the plan they had and were better.

"We have done exceptional in the Champions League and well in the Premier League. We'll come back and prepare for the second-half of the season now."

Eric Dier got himself in a right mess with the backward header from which Mohamed Salah scored when Liverpool were here recently. He nearly commits another big error with a poor back pass that Rodrigo chases but is beaten to by Hugo Lloris.

If Harvey Barnes can't reach a pass, you know you've overhit it. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall asks a bit too much of his Foxes team-mate on the left wing.

Brentford

Thomas Frank on Ivan Toney missing out on the England squad: "Life moves on, you get a big disappointment but the critical thing is why we love football... the next day, the sun rises and we move on again.

"Ivan needs to continue performing and maybe there's an injury today? Maybe that's his chance to go to the World Cup? 10 goals, that's unbelievably impressive."

Everton don't score many but they come close to breaking the deadlock in the first five minutes on the south coast.

Frenchman Neal Maupay turns and lets fly, but can't send his strike on target.

Silence at Anfield as the last post was played before kick-off before Remembrance Sunday.

There's a terrific atmosphere inside the ground and Steven Gerrard is here to watch his former club.

A decent start by Palace at the City Ground. It's fizzed in from the left by Wilfried Zaha and Dean Henderson has to punch it away after Eberechi Eze was almost played in through the middle.

Darwin Nunez is played in behind on the left. He's onside and chips it back into the middle but it's coolly chested back to the goalkeeper.

First chance is Leicester's as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's cutback finds Youri Tielemans, but his 25-yard strike is saved.

Declan Rice should have cut that out really before it reached the Belgian.

Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank: "One of the most satisfying wins we've had, I think the play-off final will always be the one, getting us to the promised land. But, of course, it is up there.

"Speaking to some people from the club, this is probably the single biggest ever result, against one of the richest clubs in the world and we have one of the lowest budgets in the division. We're just a bus stop in Hounslow.

"From my perspective, it was well deserved if you look at the chances. I think we eliminated them. I'm unbelievably proud. We're missing four of our starters as well. Mind-blowing performance."

On Ivan Toney: "Fantastic, I can't praise him enough. How good a person he is, his emotional intelligence with his team-mates and everyone around the club. But also, what a player! What a striker! He scored two, probably should have score one more. A hat-trick here, I thought that was only for Haaland."

On Brentford's defending: "We spoke a lot about wow do we eliminate Haaland? We stopped the source into him and when it got into the box, we defended brilliantly."

There's a few managers in the stands at Anfield. Reds' boss Jurgen Klopp is serving a one-match touchline ban and is communicating with staff via the phone for his seat. Former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is also watching on as a fan.

It's Southampton who almost make their mark early on though with Che Adams not quite getting on the end of a cross.

West Ham defender Kurt Zouma picked up an injury in the warm-up but has been able to start.

It looked for a minute as if Nayef Aguerd might make his Premier League debut, but he remains on the bench.

Tyler Adams will be facing England at the World Cup in Qatar. There's no holding back from the American early doors here. He flies in and fouls Rodrigo Bentancur.

We've already had some serious drama from one game. Just imagine what five of them will deliver?!
