Aymeric Laporte is getting Terry Butcher'd now - massive strapping being wrapped around his head.

It looks like he's going to continue. He's been proper patched up but it's not sitting well with the defender, who grimaces when some taping is applied.

This is a lengthy stoppage now, Aymeric Laporte hasn't moved - or not been allowed to.

A nasty gash to the head needs a bit of glue applying to it.

The City player and Spain boss Luis Enrique are both sitting rather uncomfortably at the moment.

It's coming, looking ominous for Brentford.

    HT: Man City 1-1 Brentford

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Man City have not lost since the Liverpool game so all the players are on top form performing and winning games but I just love Phil Foden.

I love what he brings to the team, the way he just floats in pockets, his passing ability and he's scored a lot of goals recently.

  9. Has Foden changed the game?published at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

    HT: Man City 1-1 Brentford

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Brentford manager Thomas Frank will be so frustrated having got to within seconds of the break with his side holding that lead.

Manchester City have been well below their best but there has been so much to like about Brentford's display, especially the positive start which brought them their goal.

There is just a feeling now, however, that the tide has turned with Phil Foden's goal.

Chris: As a Newcastle fan, I am loving the ride we're on right now, but it's way too soon for us to be thought of us title challengers. Qualification for Europe is a realistic target, and perhaps a good run in the cups. But title challengers? Not yet.

  11. Foden 'unbelievable' strikepublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

    HT: Man City 1-1 Brentford

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Unbelievable, Phil Foden's technical ability is just phenomenal for someone so young and to take that on the half volley, it's such a clean strike. The goalkeeper gets nowhere near it.

Can City actually go in ahead at the break? No.

    Phil Foden

    Whooooooooooooosh, WHAT A HIT!!

City have been pushing and level on the verge of half time.

Kevin de Bruyne's corner is flicked on by Manuel Akanji and Phil Foden takes the ball on the bounce, smacking an unstoppable, rising first time strike which arrows into the top corner of the net.

What technique from the City player and the champions restore parity.

So many people moaning about Toney not going to the World Cup. Is there really that much difference between him and Wilson? They're both good, in-form strikers who will be used sparingly by Southgate, if at all. Some England fans just love a moan.

    This was a chance!

Brentford haven't offered much since scoring but get a glorious opportunity when Ivan Toney helps the ball on.

Bryan Mbeumo sneaks in between Ederson and John Stones, but his flicked effort from the edge of the box has no elevation and the Brazil goalkeeper can gather.

If Newcastle win today and City lose or even draw, with January Transfer on the horizon *cough* Maddison *cough* and if we keep this form running and keep our big players injury free, potential title shot? BIG IF of course, but seeing how wobbly City's defence is and how strong ours is, I think we have a chance!

Not happening for City in the final third.

Ederson's brilliant boot out sends the home side on their way but Phil Foden's cross towards Erling Haaland is too high and the Norwegian cannot add to his tally for the season.

Liam: Two dives in two weekends from Kevin De Bruyne. This needs to get out of his game. He doesn't need to do it. You're world class. Don't get yourself a bad reputation.

SuperSpoonerman: Man City doing Man City things when going behind, trying everything they can to get a penalty. See De Bruyne v Fulham.
