Everton manager Brian Sorensen, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm really happy the girls did exactly what we have been training. They had the coolness and calmness to keep the ball and did so well. I'm really happy.

On player of the match Jess Park: "Jess has been sick last week so we are really lucky she has performed the way she has today."

On their fresh outlook this season: "We are putting in a strategy of how we want to play, of the identity we want to show. We want to be aggressive but calm and composed on the ball, not always having to send it long.

"On the second goal, we had the ball a minute or so before putting in Jess."

On the third goal: "Jess picks up the second ball and Bennison is really cool with the way she took it. I celebrated a lot because I knew then it was game over."

On controlling the atmosphere: "I said to the players before the game that if we dominate the ball, we will shut the spectators down. We kept our calm and that was cool.

"What we really have to work for [is the clean sheet]. We will score goals but if we concede every time, we will be on the back foot - so it was really nice to keep a clean sheet here."

On hopes for this campaign: "It's a new season, with 10 new players and new coaching staff. We don't look back - we look forward."

Player of the match Jess Park, speaking to Sky Sports about her goal: "I was just calm. I knew where the players were around me and thought I would just pull the ball back across goal, had a go and it went in.

"I tried that in training and messed it up."

On playing at Anfield: "It's a brilliant atmosphere - you can't take it in in the moment.

On Brian Sorensen's directions: "The manager has told me he wants me to be free in the final third. That's when I am best - playing freely. Finding spaces, having fun and just being free.

"I have to work hard in training - there are a lot of good girls in the team. I have to prove I can start and hopefully I will play."

On her ambitions for her loan move from Manchester City: "Consistent game time, growing that confidence. Today I felt free - hopefully I can bring that each week."

    FT: Liverpool 0-3 Everton

Everton had 19 of the 29 shots on goal and nine of the 10 on target.

    Lindsay Johnson
Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's great to have the Merseyside derby back in the Women's Super League - two teams going for it and you could see the intensity.

Everton tonight have shown that they are a step ahead of Liverpool at the moment.

They look very strong in attack with the new signings they've made. That third goal came from a fantastic counter-attack and it was a really composed, classy finish from Bennison.

  7. 'Nice blend of youth and experience'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    Sue Smith
Former England international on Sky Sports

Everton's movement has been excellent - they stretched the pitch when they needed to.

There have been some stand-out performances but this Everton side will be delighted with their overall performance after getting beaten last week.

They have a nice blend of youth and experience. We are just seeing an Everton side building.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    Liverpool 0-3 Everton

Liverpool have two of their best chances of the match in the closing stages, Daniels failing to connect cleanly enough with Furness's delivery from the left before Stengel can only direct a header over the crossbar in front of goal.

It's too little too late, though, as the final whistle signals a first victory of the season for Everton on a memorable night for Sorensen and those noisy supporters in the home end.

Everton have three wins out of three at Anfield, while their arch-rivals have never scored here in this fixture.

The visiting players race to embrace each other after a fully deserved, comprehensive win as part of a hugely impressive display!

  9. 'Park has been excellent'published at 20:38 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

Jess Park is definitely my player of the match. She has been excellent all the way through. The goal stood out but she has then set up the third goal as well. Classy throughout, she has been excellent tonight.

  10. Postpublished at 90 mins

There will be seven minutes of added time.

Liverpool and their fans undoubtedly can't wait for this to end.

  11. 'Cool and calm'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    Liverpool 0-3 Everton

    Sue Smith
Former England international on Sky Sports

Thoroughly deserved from Everton. Look how unselfish this is from Jess Park, such great vision and she stayed cool and calm to play in Hanna Bennison. Liverpool just could not get back.

The is the difference between the two sides. Everton have been so good in front of goal - cool and clinical.

  12. GOAL - Liverpool 0-3 Evertonpublished at 87 mins

    Hanna Bennison

That surely wins the Merseyside derby!

For the umpteenth time tonight, Everton win possession through determination and alertness inside the Liverpool half, Queiroz Costa catching Campbell out.

Park has a run at two defenders just outside the penalty area, then spots Bennison in space to her left, locating the substitute with a precise low pass.

Bennison takes a touch and sends a clinical finish beyond the desperate dive of Fahey.

  13. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

There's a rare moment of panic inside Everton's penalty area as Brosnan misjudges a bounce, the ball arcing over her leap and towards the net from a Liverpool cross from the right.

George and Finnigan are on the line and ready to clear, but the keeper races back to recover possession, allowing herself a relieved smile.

  14. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

Brosnan does well to firmly punch a corner from the right to safety at the expense of a corner on the opposite side.

Liverpool do little with their second set-piece in quick succession.

  15. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

George advances down the left as part of a passage of intricate passing across the pitch by Everton.

Park then tries to trick her way into the penalty area with some eye-catching skills.

Everton look comfortable - as they have for almost all of this match.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 76 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

It's not often you get a derby without a booking until the final 15 minutes, and Liverpool's Flaherty has now become the first player to be cautioned this evening.

The centre-back had been nutmegged by Bennison before pulling the substitute back.

  17. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

Queiroz Costa rampages down the right and sends in a cross. Laws is indignant after being adjudged to have carried the ball out for a corner while claiming the delivery.

Everton cannot create danger from the resulting set-piece.

  18. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Liverpool 0-2 Everton

Furness sends in a delivery from the left. Brosnan dives forward and claims it.

Liverpool have little more than 15 minutes in which to score at least twice. The more they push, though, the more chances Everton are likely to fashion at the opposite end.
