Everton manager Frank Lampard said: “James is a fantastic midfielder with a great all-round game who has qualities we know Evertonians will appreciate. We are really looking forward to working with him and having him add further strength to our squad.”

New Everton midfielder James Garner told the club's website: "I’m made-up to sign for Everton. It’s a huge step in my career and I want to help the team get better while progressing as a player.

Everton have signed 21-year-old midfielder James Garner from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
He is the eighth summer signing at Goodison Park.
Last season he helped Nottingham Forest win promotion to the Premier League.
Southampton sign Juan Larios from Man City for £6m
Southampton
Southampton have completed their fourth summer signing from Manchester City - and their second today.
The latest is Spain Under-19 full-back Juan Larios for £6m.
The 18-year-old joined City from Barcelona two years ago but never made a first-team appearance.
He joins Gavin Bazunu, Romeo Lavia and Samuel Edozie in making that move.

Jan Bednarek will be joining Aston Villa on loan from Southampton and his replacement at St Mary's will be Croatia defender Duje Caleta Car from Marseille on loan.

Harrogate Town have signed striker Dior Angus on a permanent deal from Wrexham.
The 28-year-old joined the National League side in February 2021 and has appeared 42 times for them since.
Grimsby Town have signed Burnley striker Lewis Richardson on a season-long loan deal.

Cardiff City have signed Republic of Ireland forward Callum Robinson for an undisclosed fee from West Brom.
The 27-year-old said: "I’m buzzing. It’s another adventure for me and a challenge I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait to meet the boys and the staff.
"I love scoring goals and assisting. It’s what I’ve done most of my career."
Liverpool sign Arthur from Juventus on loan

Liverpool have signed Brazil midfielder Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus for the rest of the season.
Arthur, 26, joined the Italian club from Barcelona in 2020 and made 31 appearances last season.
He also helped Brazil win the Copa America title in 2019.

Lincoln City have added midfielder Matty Virtue, 25, to their squad on a season-long loan from Blackpool.
Port Vale have made two season-long loan signings - strikers Dennis Politic from Italian Serie A side Cremonese and Dan Butterworth from Blackburn Rovers.
Both players are 22.
Crawley Town have signed striker Tom Fellows, 19, on loan from Championship side West Bromwich Albion for the rest of the season.
Swindon have signed goalkeeper Conor Brann, having signed former Tottenham right-back Marcel Lavinier and forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy earlier on.
Brann, 19, was a free agent after being released by Galway United in the League of Ireland First Division.
Burton Albion have signed midfielder Elliot Thorpe from Championship side Luton Town.
The Wales Under-21 international has moved to the Pirelli Stadium on a season-long loan.
"He's a great prospect with a great future ahead of him," said Burton manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
