Dunfermline Athletic will top the third tier at the end of the day unless something dramatic happens in the second half.

Edinburgh's 2-0 lead away to 10-man Airdrieonians means they and the Pars, who lead by the same scoreline in Dumfries, will move above the capital side's hosts.

  8. HALF-TIME Ross County 0-0 Aberdeenpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

A game that started brightly and promised much has produced very little so far.

Aberdeen were by far the better side early on but were denied twice by County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.

Since then, both sides have huffed and puffed to little effect.

All to play for in the second half.

  9. HALF-TIME Hibernian 1-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Albeit against 10 men, this is comfortably the best Hibs have played under Lee Johnson.

Ash Taylor scythed down Martin Boyle as the winger raced through on goal, making contact inches from the edge of the area. With only 10 minutes on the clock, John Beaton showed the defender red.

Joe Newell lined up the free-kick, curling it at Sam Walker and, although the goalkeeper parried, the midfielder fired home the rebound.

Hibs have had plenty of chances to double their lead but have so far been unable to do so. Will Kilmarnock make them pay for their mercy in the second half?

  10. HALF-TIME St Johnstone 1-0 St Mirrenpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Besides Nicky Clark's goal on 25 minutes, there hasn't really been a whole lot to talk about.

St Johnstone's attacking players look reenergised with Clark alongside them, Stevie May in particular.

St Mirren went close early on through Jonah Ayunga and finished the first half strongly, despite not getting back on level terms.

  11. HALF-TIME Livingston 1-0 Heart of Midlothianpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Livingston lead by one goal, but it could have been by much more in what has been a dominant 45 minutes from David Martindale's side.

Christian Montano knocked home from close range as the Hearts defence tried to play offside at a free-kick - and Esmael Goncalves has twice put efforts wide of the post against his former side.

Hearts did have an early chance through Jorge Grant, who blasted wide when he should have hit the target, but other than that it's been a struggle for Robbie Neilson's men.

  12. HALF-TIME - Motherwell 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Somehow, this game is goalless.

Kevin van Veen has missed a penalty, hit the bar and missed an easy header. Motherwell's Dutch striker could have had at least a hat-trick.

United have been very passive. A Steven Fletcher header is their only effort on target of note.

  13. Postpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Hibernian 1-0 Kilmarnock

Another chance for Hibs to double their lead, but Ryan Alebiosu produces some heroic defending to deny Ewan Henderson.

Martin Boyle raced through, playing in Henderson, who bared down on goal - but Alebiosu came from nowhere to deny the midfielder.

  14. Postpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Ross County 0-0 Aberdeen

First chance of any note for Ross County, as Jordan White stabs Ben Purrington's cross well wide.

    Much better from the hosts.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Motherwell 0-0 Dundee United

And again! Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen smacks the crossbar from seven yards out after a delicious ball through from Ross Tierney.

How has he not scored in this first half?

  17. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Livingston 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

Manager David Martindale will be pleased with the performance but unhappy his Livingston side are passing up so many chances.

Esmael Goncalves knocks wide after good play down the left hand side, although this time it is deflected.

Hearts are a goal down and on the ropes.

  18. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    St Johnstone 1-0 St Mirren

A succcession of St Mirren corners is to no avail, with Stevie May the man clearing them in the box.

The away side appear to have woken up and are pushing for a first-half equaliser now.

  19. Postpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Motherwell 0-0 Dundee United

Kevin van Veen has done everything but score so far. The Motherwell striker is getting into great positions, hassling United defenders.

But he's had a penalty saved and missed from an easy header so far. United have offered very little.

  20. CLOSE!published at 15:39 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Livingston 1-0 Heart of Midlothian

What a miss from Esmael Goncalves.

James Penrice plays the ball across to the former Hearts striker, he just has to knock it home, but he side-foots it wide of the post.

A huge let off for a toiling Hearts.
