A thunderous applause rung around Ibrox when the half-time whistle was blown.

This is more like the Rangers team fans saw play their way past some big teams to the Europa League final last term.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou described his side's performance as "excellent" in the draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Warsaw.

"Obviously the result was not reflective of that, but they gave everything and that's all I can ask for," he said of his players.

"Obviously we need that second goal and we had good chances to get it, but from my perspective I can't ask any more of them. We'll get our rewards if we keep playing that kind of football and showing that kind of commitment.

"More significant than the point was the performance. It's the highest level of club football and every game is pressurised, every moment of every game is important.

"You definitely have to earn everything at this level. Every point, every win will take maximum effort from us and for us to be at our best."

Rangers had seven shots in the first half against Napoli - three more than they managed in their entire game against Ajax last week.

Can they get one over the line after the break?

Ryan Kent's cross is laid off brilliantly by Scott Arfield for Alfredo Morelos, who is under pressure but has the goal to aim at.

Kvaratskhelia dribbles along the edge of the Rangers box and tries to bend one into the far corner. Just - and I mean just - off target.

Lightening turn of pace from Piotr Zielinski, who races up the left, but James Sands bursts across to cover for Connor Goldson and slides in to stop the Napoli midfielder.

Not a million miles away from Mario Rui, who picks Scott Arfield's pocket before hitting one from over 20 yards.
