It was just behind Arfield ever so slightly but he should do better. It's been a bright start to the second half from Rangers.

Another chance. Scott Arfield gets it all wrong.

James Tavernier is in the box again knocks a header down to the Canada international, who can't wrap his foot around the ball and sees his strike go well, well off target.

A thunderous applause rung around Ibrox when the half-time whistle was blown.

This is more like the Rangers team fans saw play their way past some big teams to the Europa League final last term.

  5. Players gave everything - Postecogloupublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 14 September 2022

    FT: Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou described his side's performance as "excellent" in the draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Warsaw.

"Obviously the result was not reflective of that, but they gave everything and that's all I can ask for," he said of his players.

"Obviously we need that second goal and we had good chances to get it, but from my perspective I can't ask any more of them. We'll get our rewards if we keep playing that kind of football and showing that kind of commitment.

"More significant than the point was the performance. It's the highest level of club football and every game is pressurised, every moment of every game is important.

"You definitely have to earn everything at this level. Every point, every win will take maximum effort from us and for us to be at our best."

It's been brilliant, really entertaining. Rangers' start was so important. It was imperative, after the last two results, that they showed they were up for it. Everything missing from the Celtic and Ajax games, they've brought tonight.

Rangers had seven shots in the first half against Napoli - three more than they managed in their entire game against Ajax last week.

Can they get one over the line after the break?

Remember, no away fans in Ibrox tonight due to a lack of police resources.

But many Napoli fans have travelled to Glasgow anyway. Michele Borrelli and Enrico Campana have found somewhere in the city centre of Glasgow to watch the match.

One of many Rangers have had to keep on tonight is 21-year-old Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - aka 'Kvaradona'.

Expectation doesn't come much greater than being nicknamed after your club's most iconic ever player, especially when that player is Diego Maradona.

You can read more here on the Georgian, who has made a blistering start to life in Serie A after a £9m summer move from Dinamo Batumi.

    That's a chance.

Ryan Kent's cross is laid off brilliantly by Scott Arfield for Alfredo Morelos, who is under pressure but has the goal to aim at.

He completely fluffs his lines, though.

It's brilliant play from Kvaratskhelia. He gets half a yard away from John Lundstram, but can't quite bring it back inside Allan McGregor's post.

Kvaratskhelia dribbles along the edge of the Rangers box and tries to bend one into the far corner. Just - and I mean just - off target.

That's a sore one. With no-one around him, Napoli captain Di Lorenzo goes over on his ankle.

He's off the field receiving treatment and Matteo Politano tries to delay taking a throw-in for his team-mate to come back on.

The referee isn't having it. Into the book you go.

Decent effort but never troubling the keeper.
