Rangers defend the following corner but again it falls to the edge of the box.

It's Matteo Politano who attempts the volley this time but it's off target again.

The quality of that ball is sensational. Di Lorenzo should score, he must just take his eye off it.

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

Another free-kick for Napoli. This time wide right.

Rangers need to switch on. Their record defending from set plays is poor this season.

It's another wicked delivery from Piotr Zielinski. It bounces at the front post before Connor Goldson heads over.

The resulting free-kick is cleared to the edge of the box.

The ball drops Napoli midfielder Lobotka. His eyes lights up. He sees the headlines.

Sadly for him the shot clears the stand.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 35 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

Another Rangers player in the book. John Lundstram.

The midfielder goes in hard - but it looks fair - on Mario Rui wide on the left.

Foul and card dished out, though.

Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti is sporting a crutch and was just waving it furiously on the touchline as his team gave the ball away.

    Steady, Luciano.

Eventually the good players work out where the space is. But I think Lundstram gives Goldson and Sands some assurance now that he's back in the defence.

Lovely feet from Matteo Politano, who makes a chance for himself with a fine touch and swivel.

Shot is weak into the arms of Allan McGregor.

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

    It's loose again from Napoli.

Rangers are on them in a flash but Borna Barisic gets the ball nicked off him on the break even though 50,000 were shouting: 'MAN ON!'

  10. CLOSE!published at 26 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

Once again, we're quickly looking up the other end now as Georgian winger Kvaratskhelia shows great feet before bending a shot from a tight angle wide of the far corner.

And here's another scare for the Serie A side as Alfredo Morelos stings the palms of Alex Meret.

Rangers win the ball back almost immediately and Ryan Kent wants a penalty. No chance.

64% possession so far for the team from Naples.

Rangers are certainly giving them scares with their limited time on the ball, however.

What a difference a week makes!

Rangers look like a completely different team tonight at Ibrox. They are playing with intent and defensively they are for the most part dealing with the attacking flair of Napoli.

After a positive start Rangers are certainly being tested in that department, but what a difference from Amsterdam.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

Alfredo Morelos is in the book. Hmm. It looks harsh at first but it's probably right.

James Tavernier's downward header at the back post looks inviting for the striker, who looks to get his studs on the ball but slightly catches Napoli keeper Meret, who gathers well.

    Rangers 0-0 Napoli

Just when it looks like Napoli are grabbing this game by the scuff of the neck, Rangers come charging forward on the break again.

Ryan Kent attempts to dance his way into the box once more but he's thwarted on his way.

This Ibrox crowd just seems to carry the Rangers players forward.

What a turn of pace that was there from Simeone. McGregor does really well, though, spreads himself and makes a great save.

Allan McGregor. Big saves. European nights.

Giovanni Simeone is sent into the Rangers box and gets there before the home keeper, who turns behind the Napoli striker's attempt.

Brave stuff. The following corner comes to nothing.

Connor Goldson has to be alert to get away another dangerous cross into the Rangers box.

Napoli starting to probe a bit more at Ibrox.

They've lot had loads of the ball in the Napoli half, but when they do go forward Rangers look dangerous.

The home side also survive a dangerous free kick, which will be a relief given recent frailties from set pieces.
