    Tottenham have just come off their first league defeat of the season so Antonio Conte will want a response to that.

    Frankfurt have been in very good form in Germany this season. They won the Europa League last season of course but this is new to them as it's their first Champions League campaign, so there's excitement and enthusiasm from them about that.

    Antonio Conte says Tottenham's Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt is the chance to quickly get over Saturday's north London derby defeat at Arsenal.

    Spurs lost 3-1 at Emirates Stadium for their first Premier League defeat of the season.

    They have won one and lost one of their opening two Champions League matches to sit second in Group D.

    "We have a chance to play another game. I think this is important," said Conte. "After a loss you want to play another game quickly, and we have this possibility.

    "We know the game will be very tough because we're playing against Eintracht Frankfurt, they won the Europa League last season. We're talking about one of the best teams in Germany. It will be an important game for us, and also for them. Not decisive, but an important game."

    Group C was dubbed the toughest in this season's Champions League - however Bayern are cruising to nine points from nine.

    The Bundesliga champions, having beaten Inter and Barcelona already, are five up against Viktoria Plzen with just over quarter of the game to go.

    Leroy Sane has scored twice, with Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mane and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting also on the scoresheet.

    Eintracht Frankfurt took the scenic route to this season's Champions League.

    They qualified for the tournament for the first time by winning the Europa League, although they had reached the final of the European Cup way back in 1959-60 when they lost 7-3 to Real Madrid at Glasgow's Hampden Park.

    Last year they had to play 13 games in the Europa League, included two-legged wins over Barcelona and West Ham in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively before beating Rangers 5-4 on penalties in the final in Seville after it had finished 1-1 at the end of extra time.

    They finished 11th domestically last season and are sixth in the Bundesliga in 2022-23. They bounced back from losing 3-0 to Sporting Lisbon in their Group D opener by winning 1-0 in Marseille.

    It has been an excellent first half for Marseille, despite a disastrous start to the game.

    The French side conceded inside the first minute as Francisco Trincao struck but three goals in 15 minutes turned things around for the hosts.

    Alexis Sánchez equalised in the 13th minute before Amine Harit and Leonardo Balerdi put Marseille in control.

    Antonio Adan, at fault for the first two goals, was sent off after 23 minutes for Sporting.

    So Tottenham are again without Dejan Kulusevski as the midfielder continues his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered on international duty with Sweden, while Lucas Moura is also still sidelined.

    When asked about the severity of Kulusevski's injury, the Spurs boss admitted he was unsure when the 22-year-old will return.

    "About Kulusevski, honestly I don't know the timing to recover," said Conte. "The doctors are not finding the right solution. I am not optimistic, I am pessimistic about this situation."
