  3. Managerial merry go-round v status quopublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Watford v Norwich (19:45 BST)

In the last meeting between these sides in January, Norwich won 3-0 in a Premier League basement battle with USA international Josh Sargent scoring twice.

It proved to be the last game in charge for Claudio Ranieri as Watford boss. Since then, both Roy Hodgson and Rob Edwards have been and gone.

Now it is Slaven Bilic in the hottest seat in English football. He started with a 4-0 win at Stoke, but successive losses against Swansea and Blackpool were not what was expected. The ex-West Ham and West Brom manager won't want a third straight defeat.

As for Norwich, Dean Smith is nearing a year in charge and is putting the Canaries in a strong position to challenge for an immediate return to the top flight.

Watford and Norwich. Norwich and Watford. They go up. They come down.

In recent seasons, their paths have been interlinked as the archetypal yo-yo clubs. In 2015 and 2021, they were promoted together. In 2020 and 2022, they were relegated together.

Now in the new season, the Canaries are up and running in the promotion chase. Things have been much harder for the Hornets, who begin this match in a lowly 17th place.

  5. Welcome back!published at 19:32 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Watford v Norwich (19:45 BST)

So hopefully you have grabbed a bit of tea/dinner, whatever you want to call it, and are ready to go again after a frantic afternoon of Championship football.

QPR could have gone top with a win at Luton. They lost 3-1.

Sheffield United then had the chance to go three points clear at home to Blackpool. Instead they needed a 98th minute equaliser to rescue a 3-3 draw in which there were four players sent off and a missed Blades penalty.

So with those slips up, Burnley went top on goal difference over the Blades thanks to a thumping 4-0 win over Swansea.

Now we are back to see if Norwich can end a crazy day on top of the Championship. To do so, they will need to win at Vicarage Road.
