  1. Early action in League Twopublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

Harrogate v Hartlepool (12:30 BST); Mansfield v Walsall (13:00 BST)

It's not just the Championship that has got two early games this afternoon, League Two also has a couple of matches kicking off in the next few minutes.

First off, lowly Harrogate face fellow strugglers Hartlepool with both teams in need of a result to climb away from trouble at the bottom of the table.

Then, 30 minutes later, Mansfield will look to move up into the automatic promotion places with a win over Walsall.

The Stags moved the game from 15:00 BST in order to try and save money on their energy bills and will see what effect it has on attendance as to whether they continue the trend through the autumn and winter months ahead.

The EFL's weekend action got under way in League Two yesterday evening when Tranmere cruised to a 3-0 home win over Crewe to move up to sixth.

  2. Team Newspublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Luton v QPR (12:30 BST)

Luton are on a five-game unbeaten run so it's no great surprise that boss Nathan Jones has chosen to stick rather than twist with his line-up.

QPR have won three in a row and know if they win today they will go top. They are without top scorer Chris Willock today but still possess plenty of goal threat from the likes of Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair, who both have three this season.

    Rotherham v Huddersfield (12:30 BST)

Rotherham welcome back skipper Richard Wood after he missed last Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Blackburn through injury. Top scorer Chiedozie Ogbene is not included in the matchday squad.

Huddersfield Town make just one change from their 2-0 home win over Hull City, with midfielder David Kasumu back after missing that game through suspension. Aston Villa loanee Kaine Kesler-Hayden and midfielder Jon Russell again miss out on the 18-man squad.

  4. Form sides face off at Kenilworth Roadpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Luton v QPR (12:30 BST)

Michael Beale has made a fantastic start to life as a manager and, albeit perhaps only briefly, a positive result will see his QPR side sit at the summit of the Championship.

The R's travel to Luton on the back of three successive wins and the former Rangers and Aston Villa assistant will be hopeful they can stretch their unbeaten run to six.

However, standing in their way are a Luton side who have also not lost any of their previous five games.

Nathan Jones' men will go sixth if they can claim all three points today.

  5. Millers host improving Terrierspublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Rotherham v Huddersfield (12:30 BST)

Our main focus of the two early games in the Championship sees two Yorkshire rivals with new men in charge.

Rotherham turned to Exeter City boss Matt Taylor to take over after long-serving gaffer Paul Warne left for League One Derby last month.

Huddersfield announced Mark Fotheringham as their new boss in September after Danny Schofield's reign was brought to an end after less than 70 days.

The Millers have picked up just one point from Taylor's two games in charge so far, while Town have taken four points from their past two games as they look to escape the relegation zone.

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturday's EFL live text.

Unusually, we've got two early games in the Championship for you today.

QPR could will go top if they avoid defeat at Luton, while up in South Yorkshire Rotherham host West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.

After those games we'll be turning our attention to another very busy 15:00 BST schedule across the leagues before taking a breather and returning for a match between two teams who were in the Premier League last season, as Watford host Norwich at 19:45.

There's a lot to get through before our early action kicks off so let's just crack straight on shall we?
