Beth has always been really talented but she's now working under impeccably good managers for club and country.

The crowd in here understand the efforts those players have put into growing the game. A sell-out crowd at Wembley is the best way to reflect that.

Beth Mead was voted England women's player of the year earlier this week, just another accolade to add to her ever-growing list.

After winning player of the tournament and the Golden Boot at Euro 2022, having also picked up Arsenal's player of the season award for last campaign, the winger is also in the running for the Ballon d'Or.

Not a bad year. Will she get on the score sheet tonight?

England have picked up just two victories from their last 16 meetings with USA in all competitions.

The Lionesses have failed to win in their last four consecutive meetings and last beat the world champions in March 2017 at the She Believes Cup.

It's been superb.

We couldn't go a night without VAR getting involved though could we?!

The big question was whether the Lionesses could continue their post-Euro form and the answer to that is yes!

England could have been behind within the first minute but they grew into the game and beat the USA press.

These are two very good sides and VAR had made two huge decisions.

There's been some really good play from both sides but when the USA break you can see their quality.

England have managed the game a little bit better but after the disallowed goal, I do think it's taken the stuffing out of the USA.

An action-packed first half was just what we all hoped for. England have clear holes they need to fill. The USA are getting in behind down both wings and they are quick in transition, playing over the top of England's midfield.

But there was also plenty to please Sarina Wiegman. Lauren Hemp has played well as a number nine, Lucy Bronze is getting forward in space a lot on the right and Chloe Kelly has room to use her pace on the other side.

Aaaand breathe.

What a game this has been so far, certainly hasn't disappointed.

England lead at the break but they have had a couple of decisions go their way and will possibly feel a little fortunate.

Can't wait for the second half, already.

USA have a free-kick and Megan Rapinoe swings one in but it's too high and the world champions can't get anything on it.

That will surely be the last action of the first half.
