De Zerbi did himself and his team no favours. He just needs to get back into his technical box, accept the booking and let the game flow.
They need to keep calm if they want to get back into this game.
Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa
Those changes took forever and Brighton player Pascal Gross and manager Roberto de Zerbi were both booked for pointing that out.

That's the first time Trossard has had space in this game to get a shot off on the edge of the box. He did it and it was a great strike. Comfortable save for Martinez who was stretching to his right hand side.
Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa
Brighton's first chance since the opening minute of the game as Leandro Trossard curls one in from 25 yards. Held by Emiliano Martinez.

Simon: No way the ref could see the whole incident.. but, VAR is there to help the ref. And its let him down there. Definitely a penalty.
Robert: Kicking a player and not getting the ball isn't a foul apparently. VAR had had a mare there clear penalty.
Steve: Can anyone tell me what the point of VAR is, because I've never seen a more nailed on penalty than that.
Fulham v Manchester United (16:30 GMT)
Michael Emons
BBC Sport at Craven Cottage
Fulham’s late 2-1 loss to Manchester City, when Marco Silva’s side lost to Erling Haaland’s 95th-minute penalty, was their first defeat in five matches and they are ninth in the table - four points and four places behind today’s Manchester opponents.
United boss Erik ten Hag said: “It’s going to be a really tough game. What I’ve seen from Fulham is they’re really energetic and playing really decent football out from the back.
“They did well against Liverpool (drawing 2-2) at the start of the season. You have to be really good there to get a result.”
Silva was equally complementary about their opponents and said: “You are talking about a Manchester United team with a high quality,” said Silva. “When they are in their best level, they are a really, really, really good team.”
Fulham are winless in 14 matches against Manchester United in all competitions since a 3-0 Premier League victory at Craven Cottage in December 2009.
However, if United lose it will be their 12th league defeat of 2022 - their most in a calendar year since 1990.

Marc: The Emery era is starting to look very good already. I really think we can make Villa Park like Anfield when we have a spirited team and world class manager to support. Should be able to compete for Europe next season!

To be fair to Steven Gerrard, the Scottish title race was a one-horse race until he took over at Rangers.

Totally agree with Anon (15:24). Gerrard had a degree of success in the perennial two horse race in Scotland but came to Villa with no managerial pedigree whatsoever. Truly found out, and hopefully his spell there nips in the bud once and for all the ludicrous suggestion that he should be the next Liverpool manager. It's about time some of these ex pros swallowed their pride and cut their managerial teeth in the lower leagues.

Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa
Brighton's last (and second) shot of this game was in the 30th minute, a blocked Pervis Estupinan effort I'm not sure I even mentioned as it didn't really seem like a proper chance.

Richard: An astounding decision by VAR. Brighton denied an absolute stonewall penalty. Very Awful Referees strike again.
Nicholas: Do they actually watch the screen in VAR or just flip a coin? Outrageous decision not to give a penalty.
Luke: More proof that VAR is only as useful as the humans running it. Clear and obvious penalty. Ridiculous stuff.

It was definitely one where March gets to the ball before Digne. He follows through into March and if that happens anywhere else on the pitch, that's a foul. Digne gets the player and doesn't get anywhere near the ball.
Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa
Jamie Carragher on the Sky Sports commentary can't believe that's not a Brighton penalty.
Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa
The decision is no penalty. Lucas Digne went to clear the ball, Solly March got a nick and then Digne kicked him in the follow-through. Hmmmm.
