United have just given Fulham a bit of their own medicine. Winning the ball really high up and turning into that transitional attack. They catch Fulham out. Casemiro makes a really good challenge in midfield and that quick transition. Martial was involved, then Bruno Fernandes.

An easy tap in for Eriksen. I think Fernandes goes for a shot on goal, it takes a deflection off Diop and falls into the path of Eriksen.

    Christian Eriksen (14 mins)

An assist for Bruno Fernandes on his 100th United appearance.

An intelligent ball across the face of the Fulham area on a swift United break - and there's Christian Eriksen at the far post to slide the Red Devils ahead from close range, with his first goal for the club.

  4. Fulham bright down their leftpublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2022

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United are without regular right-back Diogo Dalot through suspension with Tyrell Malacia, who normally operates on the left, covering for him.

It looks like Fulham have targeted that flank as most of their best work has come down their left with Willian rolling back the years and already playing a big part.

He got to the by-line and pulled it back but Carlos Vinicius' shot was saved by the legs of David de Gea.

Vinicius then got free again down the left but the final ball into the box was disappointing. For United their best move saw Luke Shaw's long ball find Marcus Rashford and he set up Anthony Martial but a combination of Issa Diop and Bernd Leno kept the Frenchman's strike out of the net.

Manny: Fulham play with absolutely no fear. Nice to see them in the Premier League again after growing up watching them on MOTD every week.

Very good defending from Palhinha, very well timed tackle on Rashford.

Good start from Fulham, they are on the front foot. They're not giving United time on the ball and United have struggled with that.

An agricultural challenge from Joao Palhinha upends Marcus Rashford. Won the ball though.

Every tackle on an England player in this game is going to have a few hearts in mouths with the World Cup just a week away.

Difficult to see this staying goalless much longer.

Lisandro Martinez cuts out a Carlos Vinicius ball that would have found Harry Wilson with space in the box.

United clear and Anthony Martial just fails to bring down a high ball over the top that would have put him clear.

The pass from Rashford wasn't particularly good. The ball is just a little bit soft and there wasn't enough pace on it for Martial to get the shot away, it gets caught underneath him.

    United's first chance.

Brilliant ball down the channel from Luke Shaw frees Marcus Rashford, he cuts inside and tees up Anthony Martial but Bernd Leno scrambles the shot wide for a corner.

Fulham will go seventh with victory and they have begun very brightly.

Joao Palhinha floats in a cross from a central position but United defend it well and it runs through to David de Gea.

De Gea actually does really well, he adjusted at the last second. Malacia gets in the way and it takes a deflection. Great reaction. He's already committed to making the save but he swings a big right boot in the way and clears the danger.

De Gea has been left out of Spain's squad for the World Cup, of course. Seems remarkable for a keeper of his ability.

There will be a few anxious players from both sides worried about their World Cup involvement, with the tournament starting in seven days' time.

Manchester United's Antony, Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Facundo Pellistri have all been named in their respective squads for Qatar, but none of them are involved in the United matchday squad today.

Meanwhile, Fulham top goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored the goal that took Serbia to the World Cup, misses his second match in a row with a foot injury.

Nations have to confirm their squads to Fifa tomorrow, although they have until 24 hours before their first matches to make adjustments to their squads with those out through injury or Covid-19.

We've got a sold out crowd at Craven Cottage, with some fans in the upper tier of the newly-constructed Riverside Stand, although the middle section remains empty and that will not be able to be completely packed out until the summer.

This is the last Premier League game for six weeks, let's hope it is a thriller.
