    Torquay 1-2 Derby

    Close again for Torquay!

Dylan Crowe sends a dangerous swinging ball across goal and the slightest of Derby touches nicks it away from two waiting Gulls players.

It's the opposite of the first half now as the hosts pin Derby back and look to keep the pressure on.

Derby are trying to slow things down and take the heat out of it.

    Torquay 1-2 Derby

We've just gone over 70 minutes on the clock and it promises to be a brilliant last 20 minutes here.

Things have sort of settled down again after that mad period of a penalty and red card but Torquay are pushing forward at every opportunity.

Stephen Wearne steps up to take a free-kick in a presentable position, but it flies harmlessly over the bar.

This is not the scenario Derby boss Paul Warne would have wanted.

    Torquay 1-2 Derby

    Marc Edworthy
Former Derby defender on BBC Radio Derby

Derby have got to weather this storm, they have got to hold tight and be professional, resilient.

Concentration is key. I stil think they can be a threat going forward if they can get the ball in behind, they have tested the Torquay defence all afternoon.

But first they need to settle down and get control of this football game.

  4. CLOSE!published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Torquay 1-2 Derby

    Inches from an equaliser!

It's Asa Hall again who swings a boot at it after a bit of penalty area pinball and it bounces narrowly wide.

He probably should have hit the target from there. He knows it too.

    This is absolutely brilliant stuff!

GOAL: Torquay 1-2 Derbypublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Asa Hall (pen, 56 mins)

    The captain delivers!

No messing about from Asa Hall who smashes it down the middle of the goal.

Wow, what a difference that has made!

Derby were 2-0 up and seemingly cruising but now it's a completely different story as they face the last half hour with 10 men against an energised Torquay.

  7. RED CARD Eiran Cashin (Derby)published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

  8. PENALTY to Torquaypublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Torquay 0-2 Derby

    Just hold on a minute!

Will Goodwin is held back by Eiran Cashin and it's a spot kick out of nothing!

  9. 'Curzon could have won it'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: Curzon Ashton 0-0 Cambridge United

    Steve Eyre
Former Rochdale boss on BBC Radio Manchester

Curzon Ashton can feel very, very pleased. They have another opportunity now to run their legs off, play with their hearts and take league oppostion on again.

There was nothing between the two clubs today.

Even the most stalwart of Curzon supporters would have come here today expecting defeat but hoping for the best but what I saw early on was the endeavour of Curzon being better than the calm start of Cambridge.

Cambridge probably finished the game with more fitness and speed to their play but Curzon did enough to smother the game and could have won it with a late free-kick.

    Torquay 0-2 Derby

That really is a hammer blow to Torquay.

Immediately after the kick off for the second half, Stephen Wearne had gone on a good run, taking the game to Derby, before sending a shot off target.

It was an encouraging start, a statement of intent, but that second goal so soon afterwards must have been horrible to take.

    Torquay 0-2 Derby

    Marc Edworthy
Former Derby defender on BBC Radio Derby

Will Osula was a threat in the first period and showed what he can offer, but he really went in confident there, did a stepover on to his left foot and really powered it in at the near post.

It was the pace and the power that beat the goalkeeper. It was a great finish and a great start to the second period for Derby.

  12. goal

GOAL: Torquay 0-2 Derbypublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Will Osula (47 mins)

Wind well and truly taken out of sails.

Two minutes into the second half and Derby double their lead.

Will Osula picks up the ball and drives at the Gulls defence before moving it nicely onto his left foot and lashing it past Mark Halstead.

It's a long way back for Torquay now.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Torquay 0-1 Derby

Derby get the ball rolling for the second half.

Torquay need to provide more of a threat going forward than they did in the first 45 minutes if they are going to force a replay or go one better and claim a comeback win.

    Let's get to it.

  14. Wrexham ease into round twopublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    FT: Wrexham 3-0 Oldham

In case you missed it earlier, National League high-flyers Wrexham booked their place in the second round with a comprehensive win over Oldham.

Former Cambridge striker Paul Mullin was on target twice for the Red Dragons.

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Curzon Ashton 0-0 Cambridge

All over at the Tameside and non-league Curzon Ashton have held Cambridge to a goalless draw and force a replay.

A colossal effort from the hosts who dealt with chance after chance from Cambridge in a hectic second half despite the scoreline.

I think Gary Johnson will be reasonably happy. I don't think United have lost this game as of yet.

    HT: Torquay 0-1 Derby

    Marc Edworthy
Former Derby defender on BBC Radio Derby

Derby weathered the storm from Torquay, who started the game fast and furious.

But Derby have fully controlled the game and the only thing that's been missing is more goals.

  18. Postpublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

Five minutes added on at the Tameside.

A huge five minutes for both sides.

    Curzon Ashton 0-0 Cambridge

Craig Renshaw does well to collect a high ball into the Curzon box.

Cambridge pressing but still no end result with a matter of minutes remaining.

Will Osula's 27th-minute goal is the difference at the halfway mark.

Derby controlled much of the first period and missed a couple of good chances to extend their advantage.

Torquay had their moments of encouragement late in the half but are yet to test Joe Wildsmith in the Rams goal.
