  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Torquay 0-0 Derby

    Big moment in this game.

Derby's Louie Sibley's boot is very high and catches Tom Lapslie on the head.

It's not deliberate but he certainly catches the Torquay man and it's a painful one.

It's only yellow - he's a bit lucky to get away with it to be honest.

    Marc Edworthy
Former Derby defender on BBC Radio Derby

Derby have got to keep cool, they are the team to beat. Sometimes in these games you can get frustrated and drop down to their level, that's no disrespect to Torquay.

They have got to keep the game plan as technically they are better.

They need to keep the ball moving quickly and if you do that you don't get kicked and tackled.

    Torquay 0-0 Derby

Great work from Gulls forward Aaron Jarvis.

The striker goes on a marauding run and just as the ball appears to be getting away from him he wins a hard-earned corner off a defender.

Unfortunately, the subsequent set-piece comes to nothing.

    Encouragement for the hosts though.

It looks like being a proper old cup tie this.

Plenty of robust challenges going in early on, the wind is swirling, there are worries that the pitch might cut up.

    HT: Curzon Ashton 0-0 Cambridge

    Steve Eyre
Former Rochdale boss on BBC Radio Manchester

Cambridge are proving they are the full-time professional outfit in terms of the shape, their build-up play and they have been heavier in possession.

But in terms of the chances, I think Curzon will think theirs have been greater and easier to finish than Cambridge's.

It's a dead level game but it will be gnawing away at Curzon that they should be 1-0 up at least.

On paper this looks like a tall order for a Torquay side sitting bottom of the National League.

They're up against a Derby team who were playing in the Championship last season and boasting several players with Premier League experience in their ranks.

Torquay's record in the FA Cup isn't great either, having lost their last six matches in the competition, with their last appearance a 6-5 defeat to Crawley Town in November 2020 - the first time an FA Cup game has ever ended in that scoreline.

But this is where the old magic of the cup comes in - Gary Johnson and Torquay fans will be hoping anyway - and they do come into the game on the back of a confidence-boosting 6-1 win over Aldershot last Tuesday.

This is the first meeting between Torquay and Derby in any competition and it is the first time that the Rams have competed at this stage of the FA Cup since the 1985-86 season.

Derby boss Paul Warne has promised to put out the strongest side that he can and the 65-place gap in the pyramid may be too much for Torquay this afternoon - but the beauty of this competition is that you can never take progress to the next round for granted.
