So Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday have booked their places in round two.

On Saturday there are 33 more ties and 25 non-league teams involved. Plenty of scope for some upsets amongst that lot!

Hereford fans paid tribute before the match to former player and FA Cup icon Ronnie Radford, who this week passed away at the age of 79.

And substitute Joe Pigott applied the finishing touch to book Portsmouth's place in round two with a third goal.

Hereford can be really proud, and so can their fans.

They've done ever so well to get to this point.

They were excellent in their first half, but just didn't hold on to their lead long enough.

Portsmouth's quality showed second half and Hereford were unable to get out of their half or keep their attackers in the game.

Hereford were dreaming of a famous FA Cup upset for those seven first half minutes.

But Portsmouth's superior quality has worn them down in the second half and secured a spot in round two.

A very late substitution for Hereford as captain Jared Hodgkiss comes off and teenager Mark Derricott enters the field.

Just a second appearance for the 19-year-old.

We are into four minutes of added time.

We will have to look elsewhere for some giant-killing in the FA Cup this weekend.

Goals from Josh Windass and Alex Mighten see Sheffield Wednesday become the first side into round two, with fellow League One side Morecambe unable to put up much resistance.

Certainly Hereford's energy levels have dropped, they've gone five yards deeper.

It's allowed Pompey to control things - credit to them for their second half performance.

Portsmouth really have made their superior status count in this half.

Hereford will just be disappointed that it is two corners that have resulted in the goals.
