  1. 'Hereford switched off'published at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Hereford 1-2 Portsmouth

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff and West Ham defender on BBC Two

Hereford have found it hard to launch the number of counter attacks they did in the first half.

They'll be disappointed that they conceded from a set-piece, they just switched off.

It was an excellent header from Colby Bishop.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Hereford 1-2 Portsmouth

Hereford have responded to that goal with a double switch of their own.

Jordon Thompson and Luke Haines have been sent on to replace Kane Thompson-Sommers and Harry Pinchard.

    Happy birthday Colby Bishop!

Portsmouth lead as Clark Robertson whips over a corner from the left. Bishop gets up well and above his marker to guide a header from near post to far.

Twenty-six today, that is a 10th of the season for Bishop since he moved down from Accrington Stanley.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

A double change for the visitors.

A welcome return to the team for Tom Lowery who has been out since September, and Joe Pigott also comes on.

Ronan Curtis, who went down early in the first half, and Jay Mingi are the players to make way.

  5. Eve untroubled in this halfpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

Well most of you think (or want) Hereford will be victorious.

They are soaking up some pressure at the moment but Bermuda international Dale Eve has been untroubled in goal.

The Bulls must be waiting to strike late!

  6. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 2-0 Morecambepublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    Alex Mighten (65 mins)

    Tie over, most probably...

Morecambe don't help their cause here - a wayward backpass is latched on to by Alex Mighten, who holds his nerve to finish past Connor Ripley and double Sheffield Wednesday's lead.

  7. Big hitters in the early roundspublished at 55 mins

    Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

With Portsmouth, Derby, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton all floating around in League One, there really are some big hitters in the first couple of rounds of the FA Cup.

They would be a great scalp for any non-league club left in the competition.

Pompey are starting to pin Hereford back in their own half here and right-back Zak Swanson is getting some joy down his flank.

  8. Can Pompey make 81-place difference count?published at 49 mins

    Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

In the first half Portsmouth had more possession, more shots and more on target and more corners, but the statistic that matters most means we are all square.

Pompey will hope they can eventually make the 81-place difference in the pyramid between the two clubs count.

If you've been enjoying this so far then you're in for an FA Cup treat on Saturday.

We'll be bringing you updates from a staggering 33 first-round ties, starting with seventh-tier South Shields against League One Forest Green Rovers - a game that will be live on BBC One from 11:45 GMT.

You may recognise the South Shields boss from his playing days - I caught up with Kevin Phillips earlier this week, who is unexpectedly "loving" non-league management.

Hackett draws Portsmouth level at Hereford

There were only seven minutes between the two goals.

Reeco Hackett had lost the ball in the lead-up to Hereford's goal, but he was on hand to finish off after Ronan Curtis had nodded one down into his path.

After keeping Portsmouth at bay for the first 25 minutes, Hereford burst into life as Miles Storey punished some sloppy play from the visitors to put his team in front.

  15. Owls on top against Morecambepublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

They're about to start the second half at Hillsborough - where they started 10 minutes earlier - and Sheffield Wednesday look in relative control of their first-round tie with Morecambe.

A fine Josh Windass finish has the Owls ahead and Morecambe have just one away league win to their name this season, so it's going to be a big ask.

  16. 'Hereford will be delighted'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

    HT: Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff and West Ham defender on BBC Two

Hereford will be absolutely delighted with that half.

Getting their noses in front, a fantastically worked goal - the only disappointment will be that they didn't hold on to the lead long enough.

It was an excellent response from Portsmouth.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

A fine 45 minutes of cup football. Non-league Hereford went ahead through Miles Storey but League One Portsmouth are on terms thanks to Reeco Hackett.

How will this one go after the break?

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2022

Corners for both sides as the half draws to an end.

Portsmouth waste theirs with a short one that they get all wrong. Hereford's is well headed clear by Colby Bishop.

  20. Pompey bell can be heardpublished at 41 mins

    Hereford 1-1 Portsmouth

Portsmouth manager Danny Cowley will be relieved his team were not behind for long.

It has silenced the home crowd for a few minutes and allows the famous Portsmouth bell to be heard chiming.
