Scottish football is synonymous with the zany, the amusing, the weird, and the wonderful.

This one involves 'mystery, buried treasure, and football' as BBC Sport Scotland's Jonathan Sutherland tells us below.

  10. HALF-TIME Greenock Morton 3-0 Inverness CTpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 28 October 2022

Around three minutes in the cameras picked up a disappointed looking Dougie Imrie shaking his head as his team weathered an early storm of Inverness attacking pressure.

Seems like an age ago now, not just 45 minutes or so.

Robbie Muirhead opened the scoring before Grant Gillespie scored from the second attempt after Mark Ridgers saved his penalty.

A David Carson own goal compounded Inverness' misery.

    David Carson (Own Goal)

    A bizarre one indeed.

A cross dips towards the centre of the six-yard box where David Carson is taking up the space.

He ends up just nodding it into his net...

Perhaps he thought he could cushion it down to his keeper?

Efe Ambrose lunges in front of a Billy Mckay shot at the back post to prevent what looked like it was about to be a certain goal.

As aforementioned the home fans have already given him a cultlike status it seems, and that defensive action is exactly why.

    Greenock Morton 2-0 Inverness CT

Muirhead - yes he really is everywhere tonight - bursts in behind again.

Ridgers saves his shot at the second attempt but the number 9 for Morton is looking sensational so far it has to be said.

The Inverness defenders are giving him an incredible amount of time and space too, though.

A Morton cross is flashed in but it's too high for Muirhead to reach.

The scorer of the game's opening goal is getting bags of space in and around the area.

Copy and paste...it's nearly three nil!

Lewis Strapp drills a ball towards the back post that Robbie Muirhead stretches to get a toe on, but it shoots over the bar.

Much to the relief of the Inverness defence, the offside flag was ultimately raised.

'There's only one Efe Ambrose' rings out around Cappielow with just a smidge over 20 minutes on the clock.

Steven Boyd takes a wild swipe at the ball inside the box instead of placing his shot as the ball sails high and wide.

He could have got his side back into it there.

    It's nearly three nil!

Robbie Muirhead nearly capitalises on a mix-up between the Inverness defence but can't sort himself out as he fails to get enough momentum behind his header from in the box.

What a start...caught your breath yet?

Inverness have responded well as they pass the ball about in Morton's half but it's a lot of sideways passing at the moment.

Steven Boyd tries his luck with a long-range freekick but it smacks off of the wall.
