  1. Thank you and goodnightpublished at 22:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

A good night for Arsenal and West Ham but a bit of a disappointing one for Manchester United, despite them winning away in Spain.

We're done for this evening. Join us again at the weekend when we get back to domestic matters.

    Have a good evening.

  2. 'Every player is important and must be ready'published at 22:43 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

    Arsenal

More from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to BT Sport: "I think he was really good. Kieran [Tierney] is showing a lot of maturity. He has respected certain decisions that we have taken. He has played a lot of minutes and done really well today. He scored a great goal that helped us win the game. The players are ready when the team needs them.

"Everybody has to be ready because we don't have the biggest squad. Everybody is important when you see the amount of minutes they all play. It is a lot. They have been important in the Europa League, important in the league and will continue to be so. At any moment you are needed and must contribute to the team."

On Takehiro Tomiyasu's injury: "We don't know. He had a muscular issue. We didn't want to take a risk. We will see in the next 48 hours and see what is happening."

  3. 'They took their opportunity'published at 22:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: FCSB 0-3 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BT Sport: "Hopefully we are getting future pressure on the boys in the first team. All the boys played really well. We could have scored more goals.

"I thought Oliver Scarles played exceptionally well. Divin [Mubama] got a goal, I know it is being classed as an own goal, but he is a young centre forward and you could see how much it meant for him to score.

"They have a great spirit in the Under-23s. There is a great spirit at West Ham and everyone is pleased for these young players.

"Everybody wants an opportunity, you just hope they can grab it and I thought both of them did tonight."

  4. 'We know how important this win is'published at 22:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BT Sport: "Job done. It is not easy to win that many games in Europe. I don't think it was the prettiest game we have played but we manage to win it.

"I think we had chances, especially early in the game and at the end of the first half to get it into a more comfortable position. We didn't do that. We did not control the game well enough, especially in the second half. At the end, we were a bit leggy I think. We gave them one or two chances but managed not to concede and keep a clean sheet and win.

"We have been rotating. I think we are the team that have been rotating the most in Europe today. Players deserve chances and minutes and also the amount of games we play means we cannot maintain the intensity and players being fit.

"We have all the games and fixtures in our minds to try and be competitive all the time. Today was really important. We know how important it is going to be with all the teams playing in February. Winning helps winning. The atmosphere in the dressing room is much better after a win than a loss.

"It does bother him for sure [Gabriel Jesus not scoring for eight games]. When he scores two he wants to score four. Today he had a couple of good chances. But what he generates for the team is amazing. Last week he gave three assists. Today he was involved in every action again. The goals will come."

  6. 'I will give 100% whether I start or not'published at 22:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

    Arsenal

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney, speaking to BT Sport: "We wanted to get the game done by 60-70 minutes ands score a couple of goals, but we never done that. I thought we saw the game out. They put a lot of pressure on us but we saw it out well.

"We had to show fight and hunger because they came here with so much of that. We knew they would. Their last couple of results have been good so they have grown in confidence. We dealt quite well, it's just a pity we couldn't score a couple more.

"We won 5-0 a few days ago so it's not like this [struggling for a second goal] happens all the time. Teams win 1-0. As long as we get a clean sheet we are confident we will score.

"I want to play every game I can. I have to keep working hard. The manager knows I will give 100% whether I start or not.

On getting a knock late on: "I'm all good. Just a swollen ankle but it will be fine."

Arsenal are making the Emirates a fortress.

The Gunners have won all nine of their home games in all competitions this season, their longest such run at the start of a campaign since 2009-10 (11).

  8. 'I am happy for the young players'published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: FCSB 0-3 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham's Pablo Fornals, speaking to BT Sport: "We were already qualified first in the group but that is the success of the team. We came here for a difficult game, they changed coach, everyone was ready for the game.

"We came with a lot of kids but this is another point to be really happy and grateful about because the academy is supporting the first team with very good players.

"I am happy for the players who had chance to play, they did really well."

On scoring twice as a player on the periphery of the first team: "We came here to do our best because this is our chance. Really happy for all the players today because it is important for us as well, not just individually but also for the rest of the players in the team because they know we are strong."

Arsenal have finished top of their group in all five of their participations in the Europa League, with no side winning a group more often since the rebrand of the competition in 2009-10 (FC Red Bull Salzburg also five).

  10. Postpublished at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

    FT: FCSB 0-3 West Ham

What a night for West Ham.

They have become the first side to win all six group games in a Europa Conference League campaign. Granted, the tournament is still pretty new, but that is a good effort.

They did it tonight with some stellar displays from some of their academy stars.

Oliver Scarles and Divin Mubama were excellent.

    Hearts. In. Mouths.

The free-kick is brilliant and Nikola Katic rises to meet it. It is essentially a free header but he puts it over the bar.

    Massive, massive chance.

    That could be that, though.

James: First thing Arsenal have to do in January, if they want to maintain their position in the league and also mount cup runs, is sign a proper backup to Jesus. Nketiah is not the one.
