The home side look to hit back straight away but a low cross from the right from Andrei Cordea is straight to Alphonse Areola.

    Pablo Fornals

One of West Ham's more experienced men steps up!

Pablo Fornals is in acres of space as a long ball forward drops over the defence. He holds off the scrambling home defence and then whips a shot past Stefan Tarnovanu.

    Great finish.

    FCSB 0-0 West Ham

Flynn Downes is having a decent game.

He almost gets in again after meeting a Vladimir Coufal volleyed cross but his marker strands firm to get the ball away from the home box.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

    Great header! Great save!

Eddie Nketiah gets free to meet a corner and glance a header that looks destined for the net. That reckons without a brilliant, instinctive, diving save from Yanick Brecher.

    FCSB 0-0 West Ham

    Chance!

Flynn Downes runs into the box and past the last man to meet a ball in and flick a shot on target. It takes a fine save from Stefan Tarnovanu to deny him.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

Aaron Ramdale forced into a save. It is a fairly easy one as Jonathan Okita's effort has the sting taken out of it by a deflection.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

    How is it not 2-0?!

Eddie Nketiah gets in behind the Zurich defence. He has a tug on his shirt that could easily result in a penalty, but for the striker's determination to stay on his feet.

He sets up Fabio Vieira for a shot that is blocked. Gabriel Jesus was offside from the shot so when the Gunners try to go again the flag goes up.

It's disappointing when refereeing like that basically says to players that they have to go down to get what is right. Nketiah punished for his honesty.

    FCSB 0-0 West Ham

Solid defending from Nayef Aguerd. He senses the danger as FCSB come forward and when a ball is threaded into the middle he strides over to gather and clear. That injury means he and the Hammers have had to wait for him, but he looks decent.

I like young Oliver Scarles. He looks fearless. He's getting forward at every opportunity down that left for the Hammers.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

Arsenal's goal has definitely knocked the away side out of their attacking stride. The Gunners are doing a good job now of managing this contest.

    FCSB 0-0 West Ham

The youngsters combine to forge a great chance!

Oliver Scarles, the 16-year-old, makes it with a run and fine curling cross into the middle. Divin Mubama is ahead of his marker and just needs to guide his sliding shot wide of the keeper. Instead he sends it straight at Stefan Tarnovanu, who saves.

Best chance of the game. Should be 1-0.

    Arsenal smelling blood.

They drive forward and release Eddie Nketiah for a strike that the visiting keeper saves.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

Arsenal have a record of W4, D0, L0 when scoring the opening goal in the UEFA Europa League this season.

    Good news for the Gunners.

That goal also pulls the rug from a visiting side that were taking the game to them a bit.

    Arsenal 1-0 Zurich

Tierney has not been able to force his way into the side much this season. Takehiro Tomiyasu has the left-back spot right now. But boy did the Scotland international enjoy that.

    Pick that out!

This is a lovely finish. Ben White overlaps to cross, Fabio Vieira sees a shot blocked but the ball falls to Kieran Tierney, who catches his shot perfectly. Bang into the bottom corner.

Already signs that Divin Mubama is a handful. He's a big lad and he's clearly willing to put himself about.

    Almost brilliant from Gabriel Jesus.

A corner is taken to the edge of the box for a shot that is fluffed but straight to the Brazilian striker. He turns sharply but then sees his low effort blocked.

    Arsenal 0-0 Zurich

There a few Arsenal hearts in mouths as Zurich get a head on a corner and set up Aiyegun Tosin in space for as shot on the turn. He fires over and the flag goes up.

Fair play to the Swiss side. They are having a go.

The Hammers are playing some nice stuff in the home half. Slick, one-touch passing.
