  1. Goodnight!published at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2022

FT: Hamilton Accies 2-3 Ayr United

There we have it. Ayr, for the time being, go six points clear, while Accies stay anchored to the bottom of the Championship table.

Arbroath v Cove Rangers tomorrow is one to keep an eye on. A home win would leave Hamilton stranded at the bottom by themselves. An away win would pull Cove away from their fellow strugglers.

Elsewhere, Dundee take on Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle travel to Morton and Queen's Park host Inverness Caley Thistle.

And that's not to mention the six Premiership games tomorrow. What more could you want?

    See you tomorrow.

  2. Rankin: We need to be more ruthlesspublished at 22:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2022

FT: Hamilton Accies 2-3 Ayr United

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin tells BBC Scotland: "I thought we were dominant over the 90 minutes. We played some really good football with a really good style of play, but ultimately, if you leave the league's most dangerous man in the middle of your six-yard box and allow him to take a touch, it's hugely frustrating.

"We played some really good football and it's really disappointing to come away from that with nothing from the game.

"I feel for the players, I thought they gave us everything. The way they played, the energy, the tempo they played with was all pleasing, but that doesn't win you three points. We need to be more ruthless in both boxes."

  4. 'We were second best' - Bullenpublished at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2022

FT: Hamilton Accies 2-3 Ayr United

Ayr United manager Lee Bullen tells BBC Scotland: "Massively relieved because tonight we were second best. Hamilton were better than us.

"We were really off the levels that we've been at to get ourselves into the position that we are. The only bits of quality we showed was in front of goal.

"We're a very, very lucky team tonight. Hamilton never let us get going. That's as tough a game as we will have this season.

"If we've got any ambitions of being semi-successful in this league, we've got to be better than tonight."

  5. Akinyemi praises 'resilient' Unitedpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2022

FT: Hamilton Accies 2-3 Ayr United

The player of the match, Ayr United striker Dipo Akinyemi, tells BBC Scotland: "The first half was tough, I was up there by myself. But we were resilient, you saw the togetherness that we have and that's why we're top of the league at the moment.

"Anyone can beat anyone in this league, but these are the sort of games where we've got to be strong and trust goals will come.

"I didn't think three goals was a drought, but I had to get the record back on track."

This match had controversy, excitement, grit, determination. Accies will be so disappointed and no words tonight will make John Rankin or his players feel any better. Enormous credit to Ayr United though

    Quote Message

Accies were probably the better team for most of the game, but they gave up too many opportunities and didn't take their own. Credit to Ayr United. Teams that win championships win when they don't play well. Ayr have certainly done that tonight

  9. FULL-TIME Hamilton Accies 2-3 Ayr Unitedpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2022

Well, didn't that game just have it all.

Accies dominated large swathes of the first half but went in behind after Dipo Akinyemi's early goal.

They responded well in the first half, initially through a Steve Lawson penalty. Akinyemi then got a second but once more, Accies hit back and found a leveller.

But it wasn't to be. Two minutes later, they conceded a penalty and Ben Dempsey dispatched to put Ayr three points clear at the top of the Championship.
