Another opportunity for Accies goes begging. Dario Zanatta hooks a cross in, Jean-Pierre Tiehi holds the ball up well and lays off to a falling Andy Ryan, who clips over the bar from close range.
Accies could and should be winning this one.

Daire O'Connor comes on for Jayden Mitchell-Lawson. The first thing he does is get Steve Lawson in the book as the Irishman is tripped by the goal-scorer.
Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Tiehi is down on the deck after rolling his ankle. The Accies striker is trying to walk it off.

Another chance for Accies and it's Steve Lawson again.

Quote MessageI thought the height was risky - it's a good height for the goalkeeper. But it's hit too well and Albinson doesn't have a chance. It's past him before he has a chance to react. It's the exact start John Rankin would have wanted
Steve Lawson
Brilliant penalty from Steve Lawson. He lashes it into the corner and, despite the goalkeeper going the right way, Charlie Albinson can't get there.

Quote MessageI have no idea what Dan O'Reilly is doing for the goal. He must come across and engage. He doesn't even try to block the shot. It's probably why Hamilton are in the position they're in - moments like that

Quote MessageA really enjoyable match so far and Accies will be really disappointed to go in behind. They've had the lion's share of possession. Many teams would have crumbled after conceding early on, but they haven't. Defensively, though, they're all over the place. Ayr United can improve
A goal after only three minutes has Ayr United ahead and it had to be that man - Dipo Akinyemi.
Allowed all the time in the world by the Accies defence, he made no mistake with the finish.
Since then though, they've just had one shot in a first-half that Accies have largely dominated.
And it certainly looked like they should have been level when Jean-Pierre Tiehi thundered one off the bar from the edge of the box, but referee Matthew MacDermid said 'no goal' despite the ball looking like it had crossed the line.

Well, well, well.
Jean-Pierre Tiehi smashes one on the spin from the edge of the box, it cracks the bar and bounces down... but did it cross the line? It looks tight.
No VAR or goal-line technology in the Scottish Championship. What a shame for the Accies striker, It would have been a corker.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson goes close. He takes a lovely touch and shapes for the shot in the box, but Accies goalkeeper Ryan Fulton tips wide.
Ayr have looked more threatening in the last five minutes. It's no coincidence they've been able to get Dipo Akinyemi on the ball more.
