If you don't shoot, you don't score but the good thing there was that as soon as Blackburn had the ball, Burnley were pressing them to win it back.

Josh Brownhill picks up the ball just outside the Blackburn box and he goes for goal.

But his right-footed strike curls high and wide of the goal and into the stand behind.

Challenges going in all over the shop. Josh Cullen and Jack Cork put in two big tackles to stop Blackburn in their tracks within seconds of each other.

Thomas Kaminski does well to collect a Burnley cross into the Blackburn box.

But soon after he does so, Ashley Barnes pushes him away and Kaminski goes down.

Boos ring around but Barnes gets away with it.

Ben Brereton Diaz gets across the front of the defenders and asks them to make contact.

There is contact, and if it's on the line, it's a penalty in my eyes.

I knew when Ben got into the box, he would try to get across the defender and win a penalty kick, but it's not been given on this occasion.

Burnley aren't perturbed however, and race up the other end but can't quite hit the target.

I'll be honest folks, it's not a game for the neutral so far.

You can tell there's a lot at stake here. Burnley dominating the possession but Blackburn countering with some pretty resolute defence.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis puts in a cracking long-range pass to Manuel Benson who holds off his marker to keep the ball.

The Burnley man plays it back into midfield where they try and build their next attack, but Harwood-Bellis sends a second pass from range wayward, but forces Blackburn into conceding a throw-in.

How Blackburn are defending is brilliant. They're pressing from different positions and when someone goes, someone else drops in.

Burnley are trying to create space but there's no movement inside.

For me, Blackburn are doing a great job and stopping them.

Burnley are playing with positive intent and are going gung-ho, getting their full-backs forward.

They're making Blackburn's midfield three run and that's going to tire them out.

Neither side wanting to give anything away. It's got a real derby feel so far, and I'm not referring to the atmosphere.

Clinton Mola's just put in a pretty robust challenge to try and thwart Jack Cork as Burnley build their attack.

Both sets of fans liked that.

Burnley win a free-kick on the right which is sent into the Blackburn box by Josh Brownhill.

Ashley Barnes looks to turn and volley home but his effort goes wide of the mark.

The first big chance of the match goes to Burnley who launch a ball into the box from Josh Brownhill but Ashley Barnes can't quite turn it home at the near post.

Blackburn divert it out for a corner which Burnley send into the box but the visitors clear their lines.
