    Sunderland 3-0 Millwall

After an insipid, scrappy first-half, Sunderland turn on the style to beat an in-form Millwall side at the Stadium of Light.

Had Millwall's Zian Flemming buried a sitter at the end of the first-half we might be looking at a different game...

...he didn't, Sunderland regrouped, reset and came out firing - scoring three second-half goals to take control.

Just a point off the top six. Three-nil is harsh on Millwall though, who showed plenty of promise.

Point blank save from Anthony Patterson to keep the clean sheet intact for now...

GOAL: Sunderland 3-0 Millwallpublished at 90+4 mins

    Ellis Simms

Cold as ice in the winter chill from Ellis Simms.

Sunderland pump the ball up to Simms, who beats the offside trap, lofts the ball over George Long and then just strokes it into the empty net.

Deserved that for his work ethic. And just shows the value of getting the ball in behind against this Millwall defence.

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Millwall win a corner but Danny Batth and Ellis Simms help clear the immediate danger.

The Black Cats are just happy to get rid. Time ticking away for Millwall.

  8. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Nice move from Millwall, George Evans pinging out to Scott Malone on the left, and his first-time cross brings Anthony Patterson out of his six yard box to smother.

    FIVE minutes of added time.

  9. League One latestpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Big goal, this. Bradley Johnson has headed MK Dons level at home to Burton after 84 minutes.

Morecambe have tumbled down to occupy bottom spot despite their 1-1 draw with Exeter last night.

  10. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Millwall break on Sunderland thanks to a smart tackle by Zian Flemming, who then sets Tom Bradshaw away with a clipped ball in behind.

Bradshaw crosses, it zips to the back-post where Callum Styles helps it into the box and it goes behind.

The subsequent corner is cleared out to Billy Mitchell, but his snap volley is straight at Anthony Patterson.

  11. League Two latestpublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Ruel Sotiriou has put leaders Leyton Orient 3-0 ahead against Bradford and their eighth win in 10 games at Brisbane Road looks assured. They have still only conceded four goals all season and this would be their eighth home clean sheet.

  12. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Sunderland continue to taste Millwall's intent, as Mason Bennett and Scott Malone combine down the left to win a corner with a deflected cross.

The set-piece from the right by Callum Styles is headed wide. Goal kick for the Wearsiders.

  13. League Two latestpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

330 miles separates Sutton from Carlisle, but it hasn't stopped 70 Us fans making the long journey north to support their side in a 13:00 GMT kick-off. Still 1-1 at Brunton Park.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

It's an animated Gary Rowett on the touchline for Millwall. Cajoling and gesturing his players to keep up the intensity.

Now he's making changes, as George Evans and Scott Malone replace Murray Wallace and Danny McNamara.

  15. League Two latestpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Callum Hendry missed from his own half moments ago, clearly that was just a range-finder, as the Ammies man has blasted Salford into a 3-0 lead at beleagured Gillingham from well outside the area.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Jack Clarke comes off and Dennis Cirkin is on, as Sunderland look as though they're shoring things up for the finish.

  17. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Millwall just don't seem quite as well 'connected' in attack, evidenced by Tom Bradshaw holding the ball up, waiting, waiting and waiting for someone to offer support before taking the ball on and crossing himself.

It just went straight to the keeper, with no-one challenging. Not enough push there, from the Lions.

  18. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Elliot Embleton looks like he's in but some nifty footwork, few pirouettes and the like only take him away from goal.

The cross into the box is overhit toward Ellis Simms and it's a Millwall goal-kick.

Aji Alese then at the other end puts in a key tackle to halt a Millwall break.

Sunderland working hard to keep the nil.

  19. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Credit to Millwall, still trying to play, to create.

Jamie Shackleton's driving run down the left and looping cross almost presented an opportunity for Callum Styles but he as muscles out of it.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Millwall

Goalscorer Amad Diallo is withdrawn by Sunderland, with Patrick Roberts sent on in his place.

Chance to test the defence here. Though Millwall have freshened things up themselves.
