Leyton Orient celebrate goalImage source, Rex Features

It took nearly half an hour but we have the first goal of the day, and it's gone to the leaders Leyton Orient against Bradford City.

Charlie Kelman has taken the ball round keeper Harry Lewis and slotted home to break the deadlock. Given the Os defensive record at home, the Bantams are already up against it.

Giant wall this from Millwall. Some big lads.

  3. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Much better from Sunderland, football between the lines from Jack Clarke and Alex Pritchard sees the playmaker wriggle to the edge of the box before he's bundled over by Charlie Cresswell.

    Great chance from the set-piece.

  4. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Sunderland's lack of care in possession is really biting them on the backside.

Amad Diallo pushes a blind pass straight to a Millwall player in midfield, as just one example.

Even when they do get into position, as Jack Clarke just did by driving at Danny McNamara, the Millwall side seems to have the answers.

Snapping, perfectly timed challenge from the Lions full-back.

  5. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Tom Bradshaw almost loops a header over a stranded Anthony Patterson but Danny Batth rushes back to scramble it away.

The bounce seemed to spook Sunderland and Millwall almost capitalise.

It's got the feel of a game between two teams that haven't played for three weeks. Rusty.

  6. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Poor free-kick from Alex Pritchard flaps into the near post and is hooked away by Millwall.

He'll get a second bite of the cherry for a further foul.

This time there's plenty of fizz on it, but it's too close to George Long in between the Millwall posts.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

George Saville is booked for Millwall, clipping Lynden Gooch as he was wriggling away down the right having won a 50-50.

Free-kick chance for the Black Cats, right hand side about 30 yards out.

  8. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Bit of tussle in midfield, as Jack Clarke tugs at the shirt of George Honeyman after his pocket was picked and gives away a free-kick.

Another set-piece for Millwall. Jake Cooper wins the header with a neat knock but the ball is cleared and Sunderland can push out.

However, the home side just haven't looked after possession well enough and the visitors break.

  9. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Sunderland under the pump, as Millwall swamp their box.

Just can't get the shot away but there has been some neat build-up.

Andreas Voglsammer drives into the Sunderland left-full-back spot but his cross is blocked.

Jake Cooper wins the subsequent header from the corner, but ball deemed to have gone out and it's a goal-kick.

Cooper is a giraffe of a man. Real aerial threat.

  10. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Danny Batth has to be on his toes to sweep up a smart flick on by Millwall midfielder George Honeyman which Tom Bradshaw was on his bike for.

    Some football has broken out.

Millwall then break, Danny McNamara loops in a cross to the back-post which is squared first-time by Billy Mitchell, and the on-rushing Honeyman sees his shot blocked wide.

A goalmouth scramble ensues, but Anthony Patterson saves when George Saville snaps a half-volley and the chance goes begging.

  11. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Sunderland defender Danny Batth goes up for a header with Tom Bradshaw, and the centre-half ends up face down in the turf.

    He's receiving treatment.

Batth seemed to cop a whack. Black Cats skipper Corry Evans makes a gesture to Bradshaw that he used an elbow, and the Millwall forward argues his case back to him.

The tone has been set here. It's going to be rough and tumble.

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Free-kick was swung in from the right but sailed over the top and out for a throw.

However, Millwall's Charlie Cresswell went down in the box and the away side were baying for a spot-kick.

George Saville's appeals border on dissent, but he avoids a booking.

  13. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

    Niggly game this now.

Both sides leaving a foot in. Black Cats winger Jack Clarke the latest on Danny McNamara.

Tony Mowbray the Sunderland boss is right in the ear of the fourth official on the bench.

    Free-kick for Millwall...

  14. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Sunderland fans scream for a free-kick after Ellis Simms is sent tumbling by Danny McNamara on half-way as the home side pours forward on the counter.

    Nothing doing for Tim Robinson.

  15. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

George Honeyman exacts some retribution on Sunderland's Lynden Gooch, bundling into him as the wing-back sought to shield the ball.

An exchange of free-kicks follows, as the fluency of the opening few minutes gives way to a bit of scrappiness.

  16. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Millwall midfielder George Honeyman scampers down the left and gets crunched by a two-man tackle, winning a free-kick.

The ex-Black Cats midfielder is afforded no leniency, not even from pal Lynden Gooch.

Millwall's free-kick is dealt with, Zian Flemming wins it back and cuts back but the Sunderland defence gets it clear.

  17. Big day in League Onepublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Three League One games kicked off at 12:30 GMT

After a dramatic Friday night in the division, Sheffield Wednesday are seeking to go top with victory at Derby County.

The last time these two met was the last day of the 2020-21 season when a 3-3 draw saw the Owls relegated to League One. Plenty of motivation for in-form Wednesday.

At the other end of the table one point separates the bottom-four. The divison’s worst home side, MK Dons, are at home to its worst away side, Burton, who are below them in the drop-zone on goal difference alone.

Rock-bottom Forest Green Rovers will look to leapfrog them both and extend their good record at home to visitors Cambridge at 13:00 GMT while Shrewsbury will seek to pull away from trouble at home to play-off chasing Lincoln.

  18. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Millwall using width early on with crosses swung in from both Danny McNamara and Murray Wallace causing a few problems.

Unfortunately for the Lions, Sunderland stub the ball.

Then a raking ball forward puts Millwall under the pump as Ellis Simms chases, and a throw is conceded.

    Enjoyable start.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

    So here we go.

The rearranged Championship fixture between Sunderland and Millwall is under way with Tim Robinson the referee.

Three games in League One and three in League Two are also up and running.
