  1. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Early heart in mouth moment for Sunderland as Anthony Patterson has a laissez-faire attitude to clearing the ball.

Very calm and laid back. Just about swings it away from danger with Andreas Voglsammer lurking.

  2. League Two latestpublished at 13:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

As sevveral games get set to resume after the break, Carlisle have broken the deadlock in the 13:00 GMT kick-off at home to Sutton.

Young forward Ryan Edmondson has headed home from close range on the half-hour to take the Cumbrian side up to fourth in the live league table.

  3. SECOND HALFpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

    Right then, here we go.

Only way is up, as Yazz once sang.

Leyton Orient celebrateImage source, Rex Features
    • Leyton Orient look like going five points clear at the summit as they lead Bradford City 2-0 thanks to goals from on-loan QPR striker Charlie Kelman and Tom James. Orient have kept seven clean sheets in their nine home games so far, so Bradford have it all to do if they are to extend their superb away form, which has seen them win six of their last seven.
    • Gillingham have now scored only six goals in 19-and-a-half games, but visiting Salford have not found the net either in the opening 45 minutes.
    • It’s also goalless at Plough Lane where AFC Wimbledon are hosting Grimsby.
    • Carlisle and Sutton are only 15 minutes in but no goals there either.

    HT: Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

The best bit of that half was a jelly sweet offered to me by Sunderland legend Gary Bennett.

    Otherwise, painful.

Reporter Andy Sixsmith from BBC Radio 5 Live has just told me Sunderland games are always disappointing in his presence. He's not lying so far.

  6. League One round-uppublished at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

    • Victor Adeboyejo’s penalty just before the half-hour has Burton 1-0 up at fellow strugglers MK Dons at the interval, with Dons dropping to the foot of the table if nothing changes in the second half. Mo Eisa spurned a good chance to equalise just before the break.
    • Current basement-boys Forest Green Rovers are goalless at home to Cambridge in the 13:00 GMT kick-off.
    • The only other goal in the early kick-offs came at the New Meadow where Shrewsbury are 1-0 up against Lincoln at the break thanks to Luke Leahy’s penalty on the stroke of half-time.
    • Sheffield Wednesday know a fourth straight win would take them top, but there has not been a breakthrough in the first half against Derby at Pride Park, with just three shots on goal between the two sides.
  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Not a classic of the Championship genre.

In fact, the ball seemed like something of a unnecessary distraction, as the two sides spoiled and niggled each other.

Millwall could have nicked a goal late on in the half as Zian Flemming slotted wide from a loose clearance.

Amad Diallo should have shot and possibly scored earlier, in a rare concrete chance for either team.

Stalemate it is though, with the emphasis on stale.

How has Zian Flemming missed? He had an open goal after a howler of a clearance by Anthony Patterson, but his first-time effort rolls wide.

Sunderland breathe a sigh of relief. Flemming you'd have backed to bury that but it was a hurried scuff.

    Awful from Patterson.

  9. CLOSE!published at 45+2 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

ZIAN FLEMMING HAS MISSED A SITTER.

  10. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

"He'll need another pea in that whistle," opines Sunderland legend Gary Bennett on BBC Radio Newcastle commentary after another free-kick is awarded by Tim Robinson.

Millwall pour on down the right, cross in from Billy Mitchell is cleared for a throw.

Alex Pritchard goes down in the box and Sunderland get a free-kick.

    Four minutes of added time.

  11. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Lynden Gooch tries to wriggle away from Murray Wallace but he's suction tight.

Millwall's full-backs - Wallace and Danny McNamara - have enjoyed good battles with Gooch and Jack Clarke respectively.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 42 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Millwall midfielder Billy Mitchell goes for a 50-50 in midfield with Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, and comes away with a booking.

It was a tough challenge, robust. Clarke peeled himself off the deck afterwards.

Three bookings for Gary Rowett's side now.

  13. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Millwall steam forward again, with a cross from the right by Andreas Voglsammer but the visitors just can't get the chance to break.

Sunderland smuggle it out and win the goal-kick. Welcome reprieve as it initially looked threatening.

  14. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

    Good chance for Sunderland.

Alex Pritchard picks up some space in the pocket outside the Millwall box and is found by a slide-rule pass.

He drives on and picks out Ellis Simms on the edge of the penalty area, who lashes a low drive which is easily gathered by George Long.

  15. League Two latestpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Tom James has found the top corner to double Leyton Orient's lead at home to Bradford.

Stevenage closed the gap with a big win on Friday night but Richie Wellens' side look like they will be five points clear by, er, mid-afternoon.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 36 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

In all the excitement, George Honeyman of Millwall, was booked.

  17. CLOSE!published at 35 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

How have Sunderland not tested George Long here?!

Jack Clarke bursts into the box from the left, and his low shot skims off the heels of a Millwall player.

It could go anywhere... it breaks to Amad Diallo.

The goal is gaping, he shapes onto his left, then his right, then tries the left and is robbed.

Chance abegging. Fans exhale with frustration.

  18. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Alex Pritchard dinks a cross to the Millwall back-post, but Danny McNamara does enough to put off Jack Clarke and the chance goes behind.

    Goal-kick.

Home fans wanted a free-kick. "You're not fit to referee," roars the Sunderland support toward Tim Robinson.

It's been very stop-start with the fouls. Oh, there's another one. This time on Sunderland's Amad Diallo on the right.

  19. League One latestpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2022

Burton have taken the lead in the big game at the bottom at MK Dons.

Victor Adeboyejo has converted from the spot for the Brewers, who have only taken five away points all season so far. Can MK Dons, who have just four home points, find a reply?

  20. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Millwall

Low effort from Alex Pritchard is blocked easily, but the second-phase of action, notably a blocked shot from Corry Evans, earns a corner.

The set-piece is dealt with, Millwall spring forward but Andreas Voglsammer's half-volley sizzles over the top of the crossbar.
