Bournemouth have their first shot since the second minute as half-time sub Jaidon Anthony's 25-yard drive is held by Kepa. Fairly central.

That's really worrying. We've seen how key James has been for Chelsea. Not only defensively, his bursting runs going forward, his bursting runs into the box.

It's the way he went down and has got his head in his hands. He looks gutted.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 52 mins

Reece James' comeback from injury lasts 52 minutes. He's replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta. He does walk off so hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Chelsea keeper Kepa probably forgot he was playing at times in the first half. Marc Cucurella's back-pass gives him something to think about but he deals with it.

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

I don't want to say that wasn't a great kick-off for Bournemouth but they conceded a free-kick for a foul on Mason Mount about five seconds later.

  15. 'Bournemouth lacking commitment'published at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2022

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke manager on Amazon Prime

When you come to grounds like this, you have to be competitive, you have to get up to the ball, you have to make sure that they haven't got the time and space to play. Bournemouth haven't done that at all. Gary [O'Neil] will be really disappointed.

They've not laid a glove on Chelsea really. I haven't seen a challenge yet, I haven't seen a tackle, I haven't seen anyone really committed to change the course of the tide.

    Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth won two of their 31 Premier League matches when trailing by at least two goals at half-time (W2 D2 L27).

But one of those wins came on the last of these 31 occasions, a 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest on 3 September.

    Joe Cole
Ex-Chelsea and England midfielder on Amazon Prime

Chelsea have been brilliant, passing through Bournemouth like they are not there. Sterling getting on the ball, Reece James looks up to speed already. Mason Mount has got his goal. Chelsea are moving the ball so well, but Bournemouth on the other hand, it's been terrible.

  19. 'Chelsea should be out of sight'published at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2022

    HT: Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

    Mark Scott
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea should really be out of sight already. Bournemouth have offered very, very little and were lucky not to concede at the end as Reece James' snap-shot was beaten away by Mark Travers. He made an even better save just after to keep out Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea are very, very good value for their advantage. Remember that they've gone three games without a goal and they've now scored twice in the first half and should've had even more really.
