  2. 'Now is the time to be together' - Emery

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

    Aston Villa

More from Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on whether he feels he made too many changes: "Not completely. If I am starting again the match, I will play with the same players because we have our plan and we have players with experience and as well they are training every day to help the team and they have performance as well.

"This match, we can lose with other players on the bench or with the players we lost with. But now is the time we have to be together and continue working as this is our process and we can't be too disappointed.

"But we can look at each one because everyone has to be critical with himself."

  3. 'I'm really sorry for the supporters' - Emery

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to Match of the Day: "We played the first half being difficult and trying to keep calm with the ball and don't concede the transition and don't concede the long ball and to take chances.

"And then slowly, we had to impose are ideas - and we did it. But then we didn't be consistent in 45 minutes to do more advantage in the tie. In the second half, we improve. We created chances and we controlled the match better than the first half.

"But when you don't score, a goal could come and in the end our mistake for the goal and they score. They were so excited to try and surprise us in the corner and they did it.

"I'm really sorry for the supporters. It's a process We are here and I want to create. Today was really so, so disappointing. We can feel because at the end we lost everything we created in the 80 minutes."

Tyrone: It feels like Stevenage's Dean Campbell has been around for ages, but he is still only 21. A nice football memory to tuck safely in the locker.

Robert: What an incredible result for Stevenage. Fully deserved too. Yes, Aston Villa had all the possession but, in truth, did very little with it. Stevenage had a goal chalked off for a marginal offside & hit the bar. After conceding, they hung in there & deserved their win.

  5. Troubled times for Chelsea & Potter

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Chelsea have now been knocked out of both domestic cups by Manchester City and stand 10 points off the Champions League places in the Premier League. Chelsea face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last-16 and if they perform like this they will also be knocked out there.

Troubled times for Chelsea and manager Potter.

Chris Albas-Martin: The great thing about the FA Cup is the giant-killing. The fact that so many Premier League clubs have gone out early is great. It gives hope to the smaller teams. English football is more than the Premier League.

  7. 'Incredibly intense'

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Manchester City

    .

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "Really good from the first minute to the end. We made an incredibly intense game against a top side.

"Next round, next competition, we're happy to still be there."

  8. 'It is really special' - Evans

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

    .

Stevenage boss Steve Evans, speaking about his side's momentous win at Aston Villa: "It is really special. The chairman just said to me it's the greatest day in his life and he's been with the club for 26-27 years.

"It's a fantastic day for the town but we'll not kid ourselves; this is a fantastic football club and we'll enjoy the moment and these guys have treated us absolutely fantastic since we walked into the building today.

"We'll know to be humble and get on with our jobs for Saturday."

  9. Five defeats, no goals

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have lost each of their last five matches against Manchester City without scoring a single goal - it’s the first time in their history that they’ve lost five a row against an opponent without scoring.

The bad news is they are scheduled to return to Etihad Stadium on 20 May in the Premier League.

  10. 'Abject Chelsea display'

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

It was a chastening day for Chelsea, boss Graham Potter and their travelling support, who chanted the name of Thomas Tuchel, the Champions League-winning manager sacked by new owner Todd Boehly in September.

Potter's team were roundly booed at half-time and again by those who stayed until the end, with the manager hearing the uncomfortable sound of his own fans singing the name of his popular predecessor Tuchel.

Chelsea's lack of threat was also reflected in ironic shouts of "shoot" every time they got near goal and chants of "we've had a shot" on the rare occasions they did. This may be a club in transition once again but this display was abject under any circumstances.

  11. 'A lot for board to digest'

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen

Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's a lot to digest and I'm sure the board will be dissecting everything, not just today but over the last six or seven games that they've failed to win.

There isn't anything from this performance, any structure, anything I'm seeing, that makes me think, yep, that's planning for the future - other than the signings they've brought in.

But if they haven't got a philosophy, a plan, a way they want to play, then how are these signings going to fit in and how are they going to move forward and progress?

In the meantime, you've got egos, if you want to call them that, at the club who aren't performing so how do you move forward?

  12. 'Chelsea are poor'

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen

Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

We see it a lot that people want instant success.

And I don't think Graham Potter, when they appointed him, is somebody who would give Chelsea instant success.

Based on that, why not wait? However, the performances are showing otherwise. They are poor.

  13. Post update

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

The celebrations in the away dressing room at Villa Park are in full flow. It's the first time Stevenage have reached the fourth round since 2014. They famously knocked out Newcastle in the third round in 2011. Now they have something else to talk about. Will they come back down from their high in time for the away game at Harrogate on Saturday?

  14. 'Doesn't matter what changes Pep makes'

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen

Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Whatever number of changes Pep Guardiola makes to his starting XI, you just see the same performance level, the same manipulation of the ball, the same dictation of the ball around the pitch, sucking opponents out to exploit gaps.

There's absolutely nothing you can do about it when they are in form like that.

  15. Watch: Man City hammer Chelsea

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea

A great day for Manchester City, but what now for Graham Potter and Chelsea?

Michael: The list of early exits shows how Premier league teams aren’t interested in the FA Cup. The solution is to make the Champions League places the top 3 Premier league teams and the FA Cup winner. Instantly the FA Cup would be restored to its former glory.

Anon: Obviously it's the sack for Potter, then when Conte goes at the end of the season Potter will replace him at Spurs.

  18. Post update

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

A horrible day for Aston Villa and Unai Emery. They have now lost their last eight matches in the FA Cup after conceding two late goals to Stevenage. There were loud boos at the final whistle from home supporters. They also lost Matty Cash and Ludwig Augustinsson to injury.

  19. Watch: Stevenage's 90th-minute winner

    FT: Aston Villa 1-2 Stevenage

A League Two substitute pops up with a 90th minute winner against a Premier League team...it's the stuff of FA Cup dreams.
