  1. goal

    GOAL - Stockport 0 Walsall 1published at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Danny Johnson

Not one Stockport keeper Ben Hinchliuffe will want to see again.

The ball sits up nicely for Walsall top scorer Danny Johnson on the left around 25 yards out so he tries to lob the keeper with a half-volley.

Hinchliffe leaps and gets both hands to it but still can't stop it nestling in the far corner.

Stockport had just missed a great chance at the other end as debutant Isaac Oloafe poked wide from about three yards after Owen Evans had saved from Ryan Rydel.

Struijk should have scored. Free header. He doesn't get enough on it. He was trying to glance the header towards the far post.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Winger Ollie Tanner is on for Isaak Davies for Cardiff.

  4. Postpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

    Massive chance!

Sam Greenwood's delivery is met by Pascal Struijk, who only needs to hit the target but instead glances his effort wide of the far post.

Not in keeping with the general needle of this encounter, there's a polite round of applause from the Cardiff fans as Leeds bring on the former Bluebirds loanee Cody Drameh.

Leeds supporters are not in such a convivial mood, roaring their team on after booing them off at half-time.

  6. Postpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Finally, some signs of real desire and pressure from Leeds. They force a corner.

  7. Postpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Leeds need to keep working the ball, keep probing and getting into the box.

  8. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Wober's first act is to fire a shot from range that is blocked on the edge of the box.

  9. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Or maybe Max Wober, billed as a left-back signing, is going to play in midfield?

  10. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Three changes for Leeds, two of them in defence, one up top.

New man Max Wober makes his debut for the club, while Cody Drameh joins him in the back four. Drameh won Cardiff's player of the season following a loan spell here in 2021-22.

Top-scorer Rodrigo is also sent on.

Off go Crysencio Summerville, Rasmus Kristensen and Darko Gyabi.

Could be a switch to a back three?

  11. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Stockport 0-0 Walsall

Walsall think they have taken the lead at Edgeley Park as left-back Liam Gordon produces a lovely cool finish to nutmeg Stockport keeper Ben Hinchliffe.

But the flag is up for offside. Looked very close, that one. No VAR here of course.

  12. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Just like the first half, Leeds have started the brighter of the two teams.

  13. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Cardiff take the corner short and sling a ball to the back post where a man in blue meets it with a header back across goal. Leeds manage to smuggle the ball away from their own box.

  14. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

    Cardiff have a corner.

At 2-0, Leeds are just about in it. If City score again that is game over.

  15. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

If Leeds received a rocket from Jesse Marsch at the break, it hasn't resulted in any drastic change on the pitch. Lots of ponderous possession but they're not getting in the faces of their opponent. They're not giving the travelling fans anything to start believing in.

  16. goal

    GOAL - Hartlepool 0 Stoke 3published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Rollin Menayese (og)

A second own goal for Hartlepool and that's surely game over.

Harry Clarke's teasing cross takes a slight deflection on its way through and, in trying to clear it, Rollin Menayese succeeds only in lashing it into his own net.

Stoke on their way through to round four.

  17. Postpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

If Leeds are going to hurt Cardiff and offer anything to get back into this tie they need to move the ball quicker to exploit space. You look at their XI and they lack the kind of creativity going forward they once possessed in players like Pablo Hernandez.

  18. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Leeds try to make something happen on the left early on in this half but they are trying to sneak the ball through tight areas. There's too little movement and Cardiff are able to stand their ground and see off the threat.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

    Cardiff 2-0 Leeds

Can Cardiff seal another big FA Cup shock against Leeds?

Or can the Whites find some salvation in the second half? It could get ugly for Jesse Marsch if there is no sign of life from his team.

There's been no changes from either side.

  20. Early team newspublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2023

Aston Villa v Stevenage (16:30 GMT)

Villa could have midfielder Jacob Ramsey available following a hamstring injury, but captain John McGinn is unlikely to feature.

Goalkeeper Robin Olsen could return to deputise for Argentine World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez.

Stevenage could be without centre-back Terence Vancooten, who was taken off against Gillingham, so Michael Bostwick could come in.

January signings Daryl Horgan and Jake Forster-Caskey are both cup-tied.
