Villa are very well drilled and all know their jobs. No one is going to let their team down.

Bailey and Coutinho are the ones with the ability. If Villa can just move quicker now, they might get some more chances.

It's taken VAR two minutes to reach a decision. It won't count but Stevenage have real pace in their side. They'll be encouraged by that move.

Rugrat3108: Whatever Conor Gallagher had at Palace last season that got him into the England squad, I think has been left in the dressing room at Selhurst Park.

Stevenage have the ball in the back of the Villa net but the offside flag immediately goes up. Danny Rose with the tidy finish after a counter but it's a tight call.

Some nice one-touch passing from Chelsea sees Mason Mount pick up the ball just inside the Manchester City half, but the hosts quickly manage to swarm the ball and get bodies back before the England man can run at their defence.

83% possession for Aston Villa in the opening 15 minutes. Stevenage, though, are showing discipline and are well organised at the back.

First shot in anger. It's a clean strike by Douglas Luiz from about 20 yards but Taye Ashby-Hammond gets down to make the save.

Approaching 15 minutes. The League Tw club will be pleased with this start.

Chelsea have almost started as a 4-2-2-2 formation.

You've got Mount and Gallagher dealing with City's full-backs but staying narrow just to stifle that space.

City now attack down the opposite flank with Sergio Gomez twisting past Trevoh Chalobah and it falls to Phil Foden but he is halted by a whistle and the move grinds to a halt.

Colin: These stamps on foot and ankle are NOT accidental! The players are being coached/encouraged to do it! It was evident all through the recent World Cup!

Anon: That "tackle" by Havertz should have been looked at by VAR. Was nothing short of an intentional stamp. Chelsea continuing with the same petulance they showed midweek with their frustrated challenges.

Chelsea's 18-year-old Lewis Hall at left-back could well be someone Manchester City look to exploit and Riyad Mahrez skips past the teenager but his low cross is cut out by a diving Kepa Arrizabalaga and he grabs hold of the ball.

Unai Emery is in his technical area urging his players to show more composure. Villa are bossing possession and have had a couple of early attempts but they are a long way from being clinical.

Chelsea's defensive line-up is very, very interesting. I was expecting Koulibaly and Chalobah to, kind of, steward Lewis Hall and Bashir Humphreys with the young pair as full-backs.

But Humphreys is playing more centrally-based so he must be a good leader and communicator - it's a big night for the young boy.

Perhaps he and Hall have operated at youth level together through the Chelsea age groups - so there might be a rapport and relationship between the two on the left side of defence.

That was uncalled for from Havertz. He has got away with one there and gets a talking to. He is nowhere near the ball so it's an interesting one.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri will have a sore foot after being stood on by Kai Havertz, who is lucky to not see a yellow card after only nine minutes of action. Rodri's OK to carry on.

Ironic cheers from the Stevenage fans as Philippe Coutinho gets it horribly wrong with an ambitious attempt from outside the box.

The former Barcelona man will not want to see that again.

Chelsea are looking really composed at the start of the game. Everyone is getting a touch on the ball and looking composed.

Guardiola has always approached the FA Cup well and started the side he thinks is best at the time and he has got his rewards for it. He has great respect for it.

"We knew we would suffer towards the end as they have an abundance of talent they can bring off the bench.

"After the good penalty save you might think we could have held on but they pushed us back with the extra man.

"We've had six or seven players off ill this week so we've had to work with what we've got and we were raring to go.

"I'm disappointed for the players because of the amount of work they've put in and we've shown that on our day that we can take it to a Premier League team and we've got to play like that again next week."
