Nottingham Forest goal scorer Serge Aurier speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm happy for the team to start the year like this. The second half we deserved more than one point but we fight together.

"We've started well and now we have to continue and fight to get points and stay in the Premier League because that is the objective of the club."

Forest captain Ryan Yates: "He [Steve Cooper] just said 'believe in yourselves more' - the first 20 minutes we were too passive we gave them way too much respect. We were a goal behind and we needed to give the fans something to get out of their seats for.

"We were quite tired towards the end we put so much into that first 60 minutes but we're pleased. We still need to be better we're not happy with always drawing games at home but it's a step in the right direction."

That's now just one win in Chelsea's past five matches in all competitions.

Nottingham Forest have got to take that second half performance into the rest of the season, especially on Wednesday night away at Southampton. They need to keep that momentum and energy.

Could they have nicked it? Probably with the performance and the chances that they had. It was a good game, entertaining and Forest should be proud of what they achieved in the second half. Chelsea will know they were in a game today.

Good point, take the positives. They have taken a point at home against a good Chelsea team.

Nottingham Forest would probably have taken a draw before kick-off but in the end, might be slightly disappointed not to take three points.

They remain in the relegation zone but jump ahead of Wolves on goal difference.

Chelsea are in eighth after another lacklustre display.

All over. Chelsea are left frustrated as Serge Aurier's goal pulled back a draw for Forest.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang almost finds Kai Havertz in the box but Neco Williams hastily clears it.

Renan Lodi then goes in the book for a foul and Hakim Ziyech will take a potentially last-ditch free-kick.

Chelsea have got to risk it. Just try and find a way. Risk the ball to try and get an opportunity to score a goal.

Seconds ticking away quickly now. Chelsea are trying to rush things while Forest are cautious to make any late mistakes at the back. They would probably settle for a draw despite creating numerous chances in the second half.

Conor Gallagher hasn't been great since coming on. He loses possession again to Sam Surridge and reacts, taking out his legs and giving away a free-kick which earns him a yellow card.

Neco Williams makes an immediate impact, winning a throw-in in the corner off Marc Cucurella.

Awoniyi has been good, aggressive, he has been a great focal point and he probably should have had his goal if Johnson had squared it to him in the second half.

Conor Gallagher is quickly surrounded by Forest players and he ends up fouling Jack Colback.

Steve Cooper takes the opportunity to make another change as Taiwo Awoniyi, applauded enthusiastically by the home fans, makes way for Neco Williams.

Forest have managed to get momentum at home and control of the game so it has not happened for Chelsea in the second half.

A fifth and final change for Chelsea as youngster Carney Chukwuemeka is on for Christian Pulisic.

Taiwo Awoniyi cuts back inside after good work down the left by Forest. He waits before sliding it into the middle but it's too heavy for Ryan Yates. If the pass had been an inch or two in front, it would have been the perfect set-up.

Conor Gallagher tries to pull a few strings from the middle. He links up with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but his flick-on is intercepted. Willy Boly then does well to win a goal-kick off Hakim Ziyech.

Laszlo49: For all the Chelsea fans complaining about Potter, maybe have a look at your own players. A mixture of has-beens (Silva, Azpilicueta, Sterling) and under-performers (Mount, Havertz, etc). How many Chelsea players would get into Man City, Arsenal, or even Man Utd's team?
