If Chelsea lose here they will realistically need to win 15 of their remaining 20 league games to have any chance of the top 4. That would take them to 70 points. Add a couple of draws and it might be enough. But is there really any chance of them hitting a run of form like that? Surely winning the Champions League is now their best chance of qualifying for it for next season!

    Close for Chelsea!

Marc Cucurella gets a good cross in from the left, Kai Havertz misses with an acrobatic overhead but the ball falls to César Azpilicueta, who flicks wide first time.

    Real chance for the Blues.

Bobby Bucks: I can hear Potter now “sending off hurt us, positive signs, good debut, Fulham a good side”. Yet we will shortly have lost our 7th game of the season & we’re not yet half way. We never lose that many, we won the Champions League under 2 years ago. Potter must go.

Fulham were tipped favourites for relegation this season. The beautiful game keeps on giving.

    James, London

For all this lamentation of Chelsea’s fortunes let’s not forget that if results stay as is, Fulham are 100% in 2023. This Fulham is worlds away from our last two Premier League outings

Andreas Pereira has assisted five goals in the Premier League this season, with only Kevin De Bruyne (9), Bukayo Saka (6) and Christian Eriksen (6) setting up more. It's one more assist than he registered in 45 games in the competition for Manchester United (4).

Kepa will be disappointed with the goal as he should have cut the cross out and Carlos Vinicius did the rest by heading into the net.

Unless 10-man Chelsea can do something sensational in the last 15 minutes it's going to be only two wins in 10 matches in all competitions for Graham Potter's side.

"Sacked in the morning," not for the first time today, is the chant filling Craven Cottage. Tough times for the Chelsea manager.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

It is a quadruple change by Graham Potter as off go Lewis Hall, Trevoh Chalobah, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount and on come Hakim Ziyech, Marc Cucurella, Carney Chukwuemeka and Conor Gallagher.

Ten minutes for Chelsea to try and rescue a draw.

Clear fact: Short-term manager = instant success, trophy with a rushed squad. Long-term manager = a year or more give or take until massive success, individual players standing out too.

Ryan, a Chelsea fan wanting to give Potter at least until this Christmas to get his squad right!

I'm a Chelsea fan and I think, as fans, we need to be realists now. The Abramovich era was years of papering over cracks, those cracks started to reappear in the last four to five years where we won things on luck. We need to give Potter and the new ownership time before we make judgement. If we're in a bad way Christmas next season then yeah, maybe Potter ball isn't working. Otherwise, let's let them build.

    Fulham 2-1 Chelsea

    BT Sport

Former Leeds United player Lucy Ward on BT Sport: "It is a combination of a great ball in and some brilliant movement from Carlos Vinicius. It's such clever movement from him.

"It is a terrific cross. Vinicius just gets himself in between and Kepa comes out and has absolutely no chance of getting it. Chelsea will look at the defending again.

"You sort of feel that if Kepa comes he has to get that, but he is in no mans land."

Somehow Kepa Arrizabalaga has lost flight of the ball and it has sailed over his head.

Carlos Vinicius was asked to play his own game by Marco Silva, he has done that and scored the goal that has given Fulham the lead again.

The 10 man of Chelsea are punished!

Very casual from Fulham as they patiently pass the ball about before Andreas Pereira sends a great ball towards the far post, Kepa Arrizabalaga comes off his line and Carlos Vinícius cushions a header over him and into the back of the net for his first goal in the Premier League for Fulham.

Eddierocksteady: A bad tackle by for Joao Felix, & a real pity; his Chelsea debut was going so well until that rush of blood to the head. Surely an aspect of his Atletico Madrid training that will have to be coached out of him by Potter - or some other manager, at this rate.

The referee knows that Felix hasn't played regularly since WC and is new to the Premiership. Not a sending off on a wet slippery night - too easy a decision to take but the ref could have educated the player and explained his action for everyone's benefit
